I hope we could replace Jackson with someone with more potential.

It would be nice, but I think you could replace him with Elmer Fudd and it wouldn't really make a difference because he would never see the court unless the game is already decided. Once we're talking about the 14 and 15 guys in the lineup if we have to rely on them it means we've been crippled by injuries and have much bigger problems than them  :o

I think youre right but I also feel like Id rather have the spot be given to a project. Not really concerned much esp since I dunno how jackson is behind the scene, for all we know he has a role in the locker or practice and does it well.

This is exactly what I meant. Someone like Samanic for example.

They’re giving Samanic burn in Maine. Is it better to have him there or sitting the bench with the main club?

The thing is, if he continues to play well (he was Gleague player of the month), some team can just pluck him away. So if not Luka, then promote one of our two way guys to the main club and give the  second 2 way to Samanic or some other prospect.

I get it, Jackson is trash. It's not my intent to defend his performance. He's a -56 in 56 min of play in 10 games out of the 25 played so far, so he averages about 5.6 mins for each game he does play and he was a DNP for 15 games. He's well below the next couple of guys in terms of minutes, Blake and Noah, and only above the 2 way guys.

I feel like guys that are genuine prospects, that have upside, you want actually playing to work on their game and improve. I don't think it would be to Samanic's benefit to be riding the pine and playing in blowouts and only playing 5 mins at a time in the 40% of the time he does play. Like Nesmith, I felt how he was handled while he was with us was a disservice to both him and us. Now that he's in Indy he's getting 22 min a game consistently and a genuine opportunity that a genuine prospect deserves. If all we can offer Luka is to be a No.15 guy playing 5 mins 40% of the time, then in my opinion he's better off in the G-league where he can at least show his body of work where he's averaging 21ppg/10rpg, whether that's to us or to other teams. And if we did lose him, I don't think anyone will be losing sleep - he's in the G league for a reason. I'm sure Brad and the scouts in the FO are keeping an eye on Luka, he's an investment but he's not quite ripe yet, and I feel like putting him on the bench to come out for 3-5 min stretches in blowouts isn't going to help his cause more than getting substantial playing time.

I just feel bringing in a prospect to sit the pine would be a waste. All that said, if they replaced Jackson with anyone else, it wouldn't bother me. I would also be ok with converting Luka to a 2-way, I just don't know how he's playing in relation to JD and Mfiondu.. We know our team is doing well when we're debating the merits of the No15 guy on the roster at least

I think the idea is to give davison a standard contract and get samanic on a two way to secure his rights, which could be done by dropping jackson (i hVent checked the contravts yet). Then you will still assign davison on the g league.

Now though, a new problem surfaces. Who gets to play during garbage time, because the end of the bench will look like kornet, pritchard, vonleh, hauser. If davison or a prospect 15thman is in the roster then one of the regular guys will have to play some garbage minutes.

So this is why jackson is fine like you said. You want prospects playing so theyd be assigned on maine, not travel with the team to soak up garbage time. But yeah we dont want to get worked up too much about who the 15th man is when the team is 21-5.

Just watched ,  the Hornets put up a better battle .

Was this the best team in the West ?
Me too, WC road games are too late for my work schedule. Strange-looking game, Sun looked terrible. What happened? Looks to me like that team's fortunes rest on how CP3 plays. He was just back from injury, yet the team was competitive until he was first subbed in.

They just outplayed them. Boston played like a team that knows it's on another level than PHO. They out-hustled them at both ends.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

The Suns seem like a mentally weak team. The folded just like they did in the playoffs against the Mavs last year.

When they are on, they are a top team in the West, but it seems like they are pretty easy to beat if you put pressure on them.

Looked to me like that had no answer for the lineup of Tatum + bench.

I think the whole league is looking for an answer to that.

Absolutely. Tatum surrounded by excellent shooters (Hauser, Brogdon & White) with Brogdon as the secondary offensive piece is really nasty. Brogdon was consistently a fringe All-Star in Indiana, so to have him as a 6th man is just silly (Bill Walton anyone?).

Even Blake is shooting 46.7% from three on 1.5 attempts per game, which is the same & as Grant.
