Are you just hoping he can return to form or close to it by the playoffs or do you have dreams of him adding something to his game like attempting  more face up shots in the lane or one power dribble moves?
That would seem pretty tough coming back from surgery but I have no idea what he could work on on the state he’s been in. Maybe it could be a Coach Joe / different philosophy thing? Figured I’d pick brains of fans. Thanks.

He's still slated to come back by the Christmas games, right? If that's the case, I just hope he can get to where he was prior to his injury. He really doesn't need to improve his game beyond that in the short term for us to have a better showing in the playoffs.

While I’d love to see some growth in his game, if he’s really just more athletic Luke Kornet on offense it’ll be fine, as long as he’s disruptive on defense again.  Set screens, roll to the rim, get some putbacks, and keep the ball moving.  If he hits the occasional jumper when they give him room to shoot it, that’s gravy, but not necessary.

It’s the defense that we need.  Teams are just too comfortable shooting against us, and having Rob out there will throw off their rhythm if he’s healthy.  Even 20-24 minutes a night would be sufficient.

For this season, just a return to form would be really nice.  I would also love for him to remain healthy the remainder of the season thru the playoffs.  That might be wishful thinking.

Any real growth this season would be a welcome added bonus in my book.

If he gives us Sam Dalembert production, I’ll be happy.

I would be ecstatic with 80% of last year's Timelord fitting in to our current mojo. We have a great thing going, and I don't want to mess with that. If he improves his game, even better. I just want him to be the disruptive defender others have talked about above.

Also having another competent big in the lineup helps take the pressure off of Horford.

I honestly think they should wait until early Feb to bring him back. Be extra cautious and give the knee as much time as possible to heal. All star weekend is that month, so he can get a rest after a few weeks of playing to make sure the knee is still feeling good. Celtics are cruising and Kornet is playing well enough. Need a healthy Rob come playoff time. That’s all that really matters.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

That's a name from the not-so recent past I haven't heard in a while. But I tend to agree - if he can do this, we're going to be golden.

I saw a video clip of him practicing yesterday and from what I could tell, he looked bigger and didn't have the spring in his jump.  If Rob has lost his jumping, he's toast.

based on his current timeframe for returning, I'm hoping for a return to his productivity level from last year by the end of February.  The key will be how Mazz fits him in with the other players not just on offense but especially on defense since that's where the team is really underperforming this year.

biggest key is on the medical and coaching staff keeping healthy through the playoffs.

I gotta think Robs being out has finally let LUCK Kornet develop into a serviceable player.

Need as many 5’s healthy as possible to make a deep run.

Slow steady return and guard his body like a 2000 year old antique vase

Use him off the bench  to stop runs where needed and to steady the second unit in 2-3 periods .

The guys all seem to play with extreme confidence when he in roaming the paint .  The good looks just open up everywhere . Total game changer.

He JUST some way some how has to survive to the playoffs

To improve the defense and rebounding of the team, but diminish the offense in the process.

They can do that with him without forcing him to sit out for an arbitrary period of time. If he's ready to go, ease him in and let him sit out when/if he needs to. But just keeping him in a glass case isn't gonna help him recover and get back into game shape
I'm bitter.
