An interesting tidbit from Stephen Silas's postgame presser: If I heard the reporter correctly, he noted that Rob Williams had 15 rebounds in only 21 minutes and said that the last Celtic to do that was Paul Silas.

I dont anticipate him ever to ply big minutes. Around 20 mins should be his max to limit wear and tear on him. Think that is the only way he plays enough games to make a difference.

Well for now Joe Mazz appears to prefer to bring him off the bench, which should manage his workload somewhat.

Williams started each of the 61 games he played last season while earning a spot on the NBA’s All-Defensive second team. Because of all the success the Celtics experienced with Williams and Al Horford in the starting lineup last season, some have speculated the team would return to the duo as soon as Williams worked his way back from a knee issue that sidelined him for this season’s first 29 games.

Yet when asked about the process of returning Williams to the starting lineup, Mazzulla acted like that sort of speculation is premature.

“Are we gonna do that?” Mazzulla said.

Not necessarily, according to the coach. Mazzulla said the decision will depend on “what’s best for our team at the time and what’s best for him.”

“We’ve fluctuated the starting lineup a little bit throughout the year, which I think has given us some flexibility,” Mazzulla said. “But we’ve found some consistency in what we have now, and I think it’s just a matter of, if it makes sense, we’ll do it. And if it doesn’t, we won’t.”

I think it would be better at Al's point in his career for him to come off the bench and start Rob to set a good defensive tone.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I have actually been pleasantly surprised with his progress. He has looked like a valuable player for us. As has been echoed over and over again, it all comes down to health (that's honestly why he dropped to us in the draft to begin with.) If we have to monitor his minutes over the course of the season, we should look for our long term Horford replacement. This status quo only works because Horford can cover up Timelord's minutes when he can't play.

I blame Liam. Didn’t want to say anything, but he wouldn’t let it go.

I’d love to see our record in calendar year 2022 in all games (regular season/playoffs) in which Timelord played versus games Timelord did not play. He has a huge impact on this team. His blocking, rebounding, defense and put-backs make a huge difference. And you can tell he’s JT’s favorite player on the team.

I’d like to see us bring in another valuable 4 without sacrificing anybody other than Pritchard and/or Gallo, and eventually have thay new 4, Timelord, Horford and Grant all averaging about 24 MPG each.
