Thanks for the photo - it sheds some light on this incident.
Why is it we keep hearing about him being behind a wall ?

Yeah, the guy with the cigarette looks like a real jerkoff.

How in the hell is Kyrie indicating that he has a current animus towards Jewish people comparable in any way to a 14-year old kid observing an act of racial hate. Jones didn't participate. He watched from behind a wall, I assume, out of curiosity maybe.

Exactly what is it Lebron would have this 14-year old do ?
Jump over the wall, run over and physically attempt to break up what was happening ?

Not behind a physical wall, for whatever it's worth:

Jones is the one in the top center of the photograph, to the right of the kid who is holding a camera up.  He looks more curious than hostile, but you can't tell much from a pic (other than that the three white kids directly blocking the black kids' path look like huge dirt bags.)
A lot of them deserve a whack, but the one with the cig in the middle has a punchable face

Yep.  That one and the kids to his right and left look to be the most obnoxious.  I'd love to hear how those three turned out later in life.  Hopefully they grew up, although being raised to be racist (I assume) probably means they lived sad, hate-filled lives.

Incidentally, that's one of the reasons we need to call out all people, regardless of who they are, when they engage in hate speech.  Hate begets hate.  It's why I get frustrated with JB.  He's got a giant platform, and he's using that platform to help educate kids.  That's amazing.  But, when he as a role-model is essentially condoning (and by keeping it on his twitter feed, promoting) hate speech, he is teaching the next generation that sometimes it's okay to hate people not because of their actions, but just because they exist.

The league has been in terrible hands for years now. I sincerely hope the owners know this and never let him buy a team.

So many churches are worth BILLIONS still after assaulting ( I can’t type the other words)  children and protecting MONSTERS. The church still condemns gay people as immoral even in commited relationships. It’s insane to me people listen to them and give them money. To me that bigotry is hateful and there’s way more members than this Barclays center whack job group. I just don’t get all the energy towards this when there’s all this hate from the church continuing. It’s absolutely a whataboutism from me but it’s just so bizzare to me like this group is something worse than the church.

I’m glad it was pretty unanimous that this was silly/weird by Lebron.

Isn't Lebron right? I hadn't heard about this photo until he mentioned it. I took his point as "Hey why aren't you covering this too?" And, he's right. Generally they haven't.

Jerry should be asked about, Cowboys should be asked about it, other NFL players should be asked about it. Jerry should have to explain his thought process about being there. By the way, I would think his reasoning could be completely defensible as a 14 year old.

Times change, people change, and ideas do too.

It's funny that as soon as LeBron says something people are so quick to say "What an idiot".

It's funny that as soon as LeBron says something people are so quick to say "What an idiot".

Lebron is an idiot.  There are two situations here:

Situation one:  antisemitism from a 30 year old NBA player that occurred three weeks ago.  This player is a former teammate of Lebron's, and is somebody that Lebron has openly advocated for.  Lebron's position has been "he hurt some people, he apologized, let's move on".

Situation two:  observation of racism by a 14 year old adolescent that occurred 60+ years ago.  The adolescent was a nobody at the time, but now owns an NFL franchise.  The now-adult Jerry Jones has spoken about the incident in the past, calling himself essentially a curious teenager.

Why would the media specifically ask Lebron about the story?  That's Lebron's "point":  why ask me about my teammate that I have openly advocated to join me, but not ask me about an owner in a completely different sport that make have done something wrong 60+ years ago.  That's a stupid point.

And, the media has been covering the story.  Where did Lebron hear about it from?  Right:  the media.  The same media that allegedly isn't covering this story.  Despite this fictional lack of coverage, I can say that I've been exposed to interviews with Michael Irving, Dak Prescott and the then-17 year old child who was the subject of the racism as he tried to enter the school.  It would be great if Jerry Jones would sit down for an interview where he talked about how living in a racist society shaped him.  That would provide an interesting perspective, just like the interviews with those mentioned did.  Lebron's point of view wouldn't.

This is hardly the dumbest question any of us have ever heard, let's be honest. The situations are materially different as Roy's pointed out, but we've also established why it's not unreasonable for outlets to seek LeBron's comment.

I am pretty actively involved in the news, social media, reporting, etc. And I didn't see or hear anything about this until the morning after this press conference. Of course it's impossible to see every headline so I am sure it was out there somewhere. The heavy hitters (in sports) were not covering it. That, I think is LeBron's point.

Now if LeBron thinks this photo should end Jerry's career, cause him to sell the team, and be the victim of cancel culture, then that's idiotic.

I don't think its idiotic at all to say why not cover this too?

You must have missed it then, because the Washington Post is a pretty prominent publication.  They covered it, and as a result, many other outlets covered it.  I think I saw it via a link through Yahoo.  I am 90% sure that I read articles on The Root and The Guardian before Lebron spoke up, as well.

And, Lebron’s articulated point wasn’t that the story wasn’t being covered.  It’s that the media has a double standard, because they asked him, specifically, about Kyrie but not about Jerry Jones.

Can’t wait til he’s out of the league

It was a dumb question, but I don’t understand people who take such strong stances about LeBron James. He is outspoken about issues he cares about, but he has also generally put his money where his mouth is and has been a strong role model for an entire generation of young people.

If he truly did, he wouldn't be silent on China nor taking money from them. He will speak out on issues if it makes him look good, but not lose money.

Being a hypocrite is not an attribute of a good role model.

Because Lebron did this, a lot of the Cowboys players (including Dak) have had to address this too which seems ridiculous

Someone should ask Lebron about his thoughts on Deshaun Watson and the offseason and suspension decision  ::)

Also like @angryguy said, Lebron's a big hypocrite anyways

LeBron is not wrong to call out Jerry Jones.

He's wrong to try to use it as a shield for Kyrie.
