Isn't Lebron right? I hadn't heard about this photo until he mentioned it. I took his point as "Hey why aren't you covering this too?" And, he's right. Generally they haven't.
Jerry should be asked about, Cowboys should be asked about it, other NFL players should be asked about it. Jerry should have to explain his thought process about being there. By the way, I would think his reasoning could be completely defensible as a 14 year old.
Times change, people change, and ideas do too.
It's funny that as soon as LeBron says something people are so quick to say "What an idiot".
Lebron is an idiot. There are two situations here:
Situation one: antisemitism from a 30 year old NBA player that occurred three weeks ago. This player is a former teammate of Lebron's, and is somebody that Lebron has openly advocated for. Lebron's position has been "he hurt some people, he apologized, let's move on".
Situation two: observation of racism by a 14 year old adolescent that occurred 60+ years ago. The adolescent was a nobody at the time, but now owns an NFL franchise. The now-adult Jerry Jones has spoken about the incident in the past, calling himself essentially a curious teenager.
Why would the media specifically ask Lebron about the story? That's Lebron's "point": why ask me about my teammate that I have openly advocated to join me, but not ask me about an owner in a completely different sport that make have done something wrong 60+ years ago. That's a stupid point.
And, the media has been covering the story. Where did Lebron hear about it from? Right: the media. The same media that allegedly isn't covering this story. Despite this fictional lack of coverage, I can say that I've been exposed to interviews with Michael Irving, Dak Prescott and the then-17 year old child who was the subject of the racism as he tried to enter the school. It would be great if Jerry Jones would sit down for an interview where he talked about how living in a racist society shaped him. That would provide an interesting perspective, just like the interviews with those mentioned did. Lebron's point of view wouldn't.
