This is the second time I have seen this garbage by nba refs. Boston should have won that challenge. it was clear. Replays don't lie. Last year they ruled once against Tatum on a replay.

refs have to much power. The age of Donaghy we all remember. This purely and ethically wrong before our eyes.

Celtics brass should make some noise.

You think the Celtics making some noise will cause the most untouchable group in the NBA to change their ways?

They have a report that details all the mistakes they make in a game and they still don’t get punished for it.

The refs in the NBA are egomaniacal too often, no one except their moms go to see the refs in a game.   People want to see star players not star players held back because the refs have a grudge against them.

They're horrible at times and vengeful and petty that being said, Grant needs to hold his tongue some.   I can't think of one time he has swayed a ref with his arguments.

The NBA does not care Ozgod is right.  We've all seen calls at times that make the WWE look more credible.   The subsidy of points with all the FTAs for DeRozan tonight if a good example.

This is the most unaccountable group of people in the NBA...no matter how many mistakes they make they never get dropped.

That extended elbow by Lavine while White was jumping backwards was hard to accept. I really thought they would overturn that.

Total crap call. Lavine extended his elbow into White, and that was the only contact, so there literally cannot be a foul by White on that play.

Didn’t watch the game live — accidentally saw this thread title early in the 4th quarter.  That call (and some others) were crap, but I was totally expecting the refs to eject a Celtic and give the Bulls the game at some point based on the title, which thankfully didn’t happen.  Especially with Marc Davis back.

So they were bad, but good job on the Celtics playing through it a bit better than the last game vs. Chicago.

I wish they'd just do away with the reviews, if for no other reason than that they seem to screw up the review as often as they get it right so why waste the time?

Yeah I don't like the challenges. Eats up too much time and kills a momentum. If the call is bad, it's still gonna be bad but move along. They ain't overturning anything. The officials should just improve. Either make calls bidirectional or let both teams play.

I feel like every time the C's play and challenge, more often than not they lose the challenge even if the call is bad. Like 98 or 99 percent of the time.

I went to check what the stats for coach's challenges were per team but they appear to have disappeared from the internet. Stats were there for seasons going back to 2020-21, with NBA.com even publishing stats. But I can find last year's or this year's stats anywhere....almost like the NBA doesn't want the info out there.

I agree that something should happen when a challenge is ruled incorrectly.  That shouldn’t happen.  I doubt it happens with the frequency suggested in this thread, but when it does something should occur.  Not sure what makes sense though.

One thing I don’t agree with is that refs have it out for the Cs.  39 FTs for the Cs last night compared to 25 for the Cavs.  Obviously that doesn’t tell the full story but it’s not like all call were going one way. Generally I think there’s no anti-Celtics bias. Every team’s fans think their team is getting mistreated.

And even that report is "massaged" to cover the most egregious mistakes. The last 2 minute report for the last Cavs game said that not calling a foul on Tatum's dunk at the end of regulation was the correct call. They don't link to a replay that clearly shows Tatum was fouled, which was shown in real time during the game. What's the use of the report if they're going to cover for referees there too?

100% on the refs always hate 'our team'. Every bad call is a good call for the other team :)

I also think refereeing is really difficult, and the increase in broadcasting quality hasn't made it any easier for the people on the floor. Things look very, very different from the floor than they do on TV. Challenges don't do much to address that, to be honest.

Finally: if the referees would call every foul the game would be unwatchable - which is why the beginning of the season is always rough, because of the 'points of emphasis' are new for the referees and the players, so the rhythm of the game isn't quite there yet.

This is why I don't even get mad about refs anymore...they make mistakes but are never held accountable for them. Think any of the 3 refs in the Kings/Dubs game (Crew Chief Pat Fraher, Natalie Sago and Matt Kallio) are going to be held accountable for their errors? Course not.

Quote
SAN FRANCISCO -- The NBA's Last Two Minute report confirmed a missed foul call on Klay Thompson as time expired in the Golden State Warriors' 116-113 win against the Sacramento Kings on Monday night, announcing that Thompson did make contact with Kevin Huerter's arm, which affected his jump-shot attempt, on his 3-point attempt that could have tied the score.

The Kings trailed by three when De'Aaron Fox inbounded the ball to Huerter with 1.3 seconds remaining. Huerter attempted a 34-footer over Thompson, who appeared to hit Huerter on arm during the shot attempt.

If Huerter made that shot or was awarded three free throws, he could have sent the game to overtime.

"The NBA knows it's a foul, and basically all they'll tell us is they missed the call, but you still lost," Kings coach Mike Brown said Monday night.

The Last Two Minute report also confirmed that Stephen Curry traveled with 16.1 seconds remaining in the game, which also went uncalled.

This is the second time in the past week that missed calls have cost the Kings a game.

After their 110-107 loss to the Miami Heat on Wednesday, the Last Two Minute report revealed a missed travel call on Tyler Herro on what led to his game-winning bucket with 18.1 seconds remaining in the game.

"It's tough being a Sacramento King," Brown said. "Because Kevin got fouled ... I just want, at the end of the game, somebody to step up and make the right call. A guy gets hit on the arm shooting a 3, that's a foul. A guy takes six steps, or three, four steps, that's a travel."

Rather than moaning about calls from incompetent refs, the team would be better served treating them as just another obstacle to try and overcome to win the game, like bad weather or angry fans.
