I'm glad the coach still has that challenge!

Goodnight!

Yeah, for real. Gave *at least* four easy points up by refusing to potentially call a timeout.

Joe isn't the answer for us. Way too inexperienced and green. Wasting a year of the Jay's prime right off a Finals trip because Ime couldn't keep it in his pants.

This team is not good right now. They keep dropping winnable games which are going to cost them in the longer run.

They’re fine. Probably better then they were to start last year. Cavs are just currently better.
I don’t think so. They have no good big men. No wing depth. Defense and rebounding not great. I know it’s early but they are digging themselves a hole.

They were complete and utter garbage to start last year and ended up in the finals. The seasons early but yeah you’re not wrong with how they look right now, not great and they will not go anywhere without timelord being able to come back 100% and stay healthy.

We need another big.

We definitely another GOOD big.  Cavs have a lot of length up front and that bothers Tatum and Brown.

Big positive is their defense was good tonight. This defensive effort beats Cleveland at home. The team remains a work in progress and will continue to be for awhile.

Yes - D was good.  Yes - work in progress.  Look a lot better than their start last year though it feels they should be better than 4-3. .

Great game overall.  Cavs much improved this year, and they are really looking like they will push for that 4/5 spot in the playoffs.
We had too many turnovers and we let them get too many easy buckets on alleyopp dunks, wide open layups.  I don't know if that is all on our bigs rotation but part of it is.  Playoff level competition tonight, we were one shot from JB from winning.  Does the narrative completely change if he makes that shot?

probably

some positives, Tatum is taking pride in his defense, I love what i am seeing from grant. Malcom and smart actually have great chemistry. that play where malcom drove to smart cut was nice. We just don't have anyone from the bench other than Malcom and Grant that can give his quality mins- Hauser is ok but in certain match ups with quick guards they hunt him.

Uh, you mean besides the full second he took off the clock by dribbling it? Yeah, they were able to advance it, but he still took an eternity off the clock in an end of game scenario by his brain fart. Further, it doesn't change the fact that it was yet another example of his awful BBIQ.

One would think the coach would have the acumen to call that time out, but he didn't.  I chalk it up to inexperience.

I don't care for his rotations, I know some of it is personnel related but Kornet is terrible.

Nope. They couldn’t have gotten a better look to win it. Jaylen just missed.

You do realize your statement is nonsensical.   A better look means a better shot.   You don't know if Jalen would have missed a better look but the odds would have been better for him to make the shot.

What was that setup? It looked like everyone was positioned so that Tatum could get a screen and a running start into a shot, but Tatum was just ignored.

It was a great out of bounds play. There was only one defender anywhere close to Jaylen, who has been killing it with his mid-range game. Unfortunately, I think he took one step too many away from the rim.

Got a good look. Better than Ime’s end of game plays.

I wish they could video in Brad Stevens for end of game situations. It’s always just a prayer these last two seasons. And, sure, let’s just have our best player stand in the back court. That makes sense.

They got a good shot, JB just didn’t make it. Ball went to one of the two players that should be taking a game winning shot.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Healthy, Cleveland could be a Top 3 team. Mitchell makes a huge difference.

Why was MB out during OT?

I wanted him in too - but for who?  Smart overall played well down the stretch and in OT, IMO.  He missed a big shot and had one blocked but I’ll take his D and intensity.  But tough to see Brogdon on the bench.

I wish Joe put him in there at least on that last play. He’s a shot maker.

D-White with 3pts in 32mins isn’t exactly helping. Brogdon needs to be playing more. Take some of those minutes from Derrick.

After losing these first two games against them, not sure I want to see them in the playoffs.  But then again, they were early season leaders last year as well, but the Mitchell addition was big.

Was gonna say the same…pretty sure they will push for one of the top 3 seeds, it’s early but they look good and Donovan Mitchell looks out for revenge on the league after his reputation took a hit last season.

Yeah, I get wanting to manage his minutes, but like other facets of Joe's apparent coaching philosophy, he's taking it way to the extreme.
