White was superb tonight. If he can shoot like that from 3 we're gonna be tough to beat.

The threes were a welcome improvement on last year but he cut well and moved without the ball to put himself in a position to score.

Indeed much improved from last year I guess he just needed time to find his groove

Tatum wants a title badly.
everyone from last season should want it really badly.  Even Blake wants it badly with that kind of hustle

Grant, Hauser, and Pritchard were 7-8 from 3. Good bench.

Tatum is shooting almost 75% inside the arc. His start to the season is remarkable. He usually doesn't go into all-NBA mode until February.

Defense is a little sketchy, giving up 47% shooting, against the league average of 46%, but missing your top 2 big men will do that to you.

Just needed to get confortable. In the interview last seson he said he was just trying to fit in. Boston has a good thing going he and he doesnt want to mess with that

Honestly it may sound like a redundant statement but if the Celtics have the best record in the league (or conference) by seasons end, Tatum will be the MVP.

His scoring efficiency, defensive intensity and ball movement all add up to MVP level status.

Hands down the best start to a season in his career. A #1 seed along with his production makes him an MVP candidate.

As far as the defense, with Williams III out, Horford tonight, new bigs, and drop coverage as the primary cover it’ll be tough to have the same defensive success.

Al and Rob are the reason the switching defense worked so well, they’re exceptional. Once they’re out, they have to run a drop coverage, which leaves the pick and roll ball handler open until his defender recovers. The defensive system is very demanding on bigs especially with tons of lateral movement, defending the rim and corner shooters, and having to secure the rebound, and only a select few play defense at Al and Rob’s level.

The wings and guards are rotating well though and they’re doing a good job overall of defending their assignment. When the defense can play their optimal game, we’ll start seeing blowouts again.

The way he clamped Banchero when he was starting to get some rhythm was brilliant. I know, Banchero is a rookie, but that kind of thing reminded me a lot of Kawhi at his absolute best. Go down one end and score at will, then go down the other and shut down the opposition's best player.

I agree Tatum is a candidate for MVP. He's perhaps the most allround player in the league.
That said, fans hype up their own players and seem to ignore all the other great players.

How about two-time MVP's Jokic and Antetokounmpo? What if Doncic gets even better?
Your statement is too firm in my opinion.

Same thing as Scal who said that Tatum and Brown are clearly the best duo in the NBA.

I think Jokic with a healthy Murray, Antetokounmpo + Middleton, James + Davis, Embiid + Harden, Leonard back on track with George and even Durant + Irving have an argument with that.

If MIA isn't up their fans are not into the game, they're about as bad as Lakers fans and leave as soon as their team looks in trouble.

Not counting this game, Tatum/Brown are ahead of that pack of duos, and it isn't close.

People crap on Orlando, but they generally show up for their team. Back when they had Dwight, the place was insane. They still had a good draw with the Vuc, Gordon, Fournier late playoff teams, but there was always a ceiling with that group. People are genuinely and rightfully excited about this new era - hoping it works out for them. That Vuc for Carter, Wagner, and a 1st was such a great trade for them.
