I just watched Game 1 and it seems to me that Embiid hasn't grown or improved much at all in the last few years.  Sure, when he's in the lane he's pretty unstoppable.  But outside of the lane,  he's a detriment to the team.  Go ahead Joel, take a few more 3's.  Please.
Last two seasons he was a 37% shooter from deep and averaged 30PPG. Averaged over 4APG last season too. I think this undersells his complete offensive game over the last 24 months.

I just think teams have zeroed in on his struggle areas. Double him when he catches it low, try and muscle him into poor positioning on the catch (which he is too willing to give up), and run in transition whilst he flops to the ground.

If teams bothered to guard him that 3pt % would be lower.

IMO defenses dare him to shoot it and rightfully so. As a Celtic fan I like seeing him at the arc. It usually means good things for Boston.
Yep, any 3 Embiid takes is a bad shot for the Sixers, not only because he doesn't shoot them as well as others on his team, but also and more importantly because it takes him out of the paint where he is nearly unstoppable and it almost always means they won't be getting an offensive rebound (since he is the only + big guy rebounder on the team).

The more important part of the Sixers bench being absolutely horrible, is that they are in last place at 0-3.

And the Lakers are similarly not well-constructed and are also in last place at 0-3.

Begin the tanking boys!

Mark my words: Neither of those teams are going to tank.

The best things about the Lakers’ implosion is that the Pellies have swap rights on the pick. The Lakers won’t intentionally tank for 100 reasons, but if things really go wrong and they land in the lottery, they’ve got no chance of a top pick.
