Bruno waived

Curious to see if we sign an actual NBA player now, rather than a reclamation project.

I’m predicting Hasheem Thabeet.
Hasheem Thabeet, or Anthony Bennett to be our small-ball backup 5.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

He just resigned in Asia, I think.

Have they offered us a fake, phony explanation as to why they stood around for half the off-season before deciding, "Hey, maybe we need to get that surgery for big Rob scheduled before the new season gets here."

This is blatant incompetence.

Gotta sign Dwight Howard now, more than ever.

Did he do it in The Heat Of The Moment?

Howard has a reputation as a negative locker room presence.[136][137][138] In a 2013 interview, he called his former Orlando Magic teammates a "team full of people no one wanted".[139] In a 2013 article titled "Is Dwight Howard the NBA's Worst Teammate?", Bleacher Report asserted that Howard had "extinguished all bridges with the franchise where he spent his first eight NBA seasons".[139] Howard did not get along with Kobe Bryant when he played for the Lakers and did not get along with James Harden when he played for the Rockets.[140] When he was traded from the Atlanta Hawks to the Charlotte Hornets, some of his Hawks teammates reportedly cheered.[141][142] After Charlotte traded Howard to the Washington Wizards, Charlotte player Brendan Haywood asserted that Howard's teammates were "sick and tired of his act".[143] In 2018, NBC News reported that "Howard’s time with the Magic, Lakers and Rockets devolved into interpersonal strife well before he left those teams". Also in 2018, The Ringer published a piece titled "Everybody (Still) Hates Dwight" in which it called Howard "almost certainly the least popular player in the NBA".[140] Before signing with the Lakers in 2019, Howard reportedly met with the team multiple times, "promising not to live up to his reputation as a difficult teammate who disrupts locker rooms";[144] the team warned him that he would be released if he became a disruptive presence.[145]

The Celtics need make him the same ultimatum, if they choose to explore Howard

Howard absolutely had issues as a teammate earlier in his career. However everything I read has suggested he was humbled by the time he signed with lakers and has been a good teammate the last 3 years.

So the day we get this news Cabloco get waived. Is another move in the works?
Bruno appears to be 5 years away from being 5 years away from being an NBA player.

The certainty with which some on this blog have that players like Caboclo, Vonleh, et al, will be able to produce as late in the rotation guys is something that kinda astonishes me. Our starting center is going to miss 20+% of the season at the minimum, and on the day we find that out Caboclo is released.

Tells you all you need to know about the quality of the guys that Brad gave prove it to me contracts to. They weren't in the NBA or got next to no minutes for a reason.

Just hope this drives Brad forward into looking at a DHoward for the backup center roll.
Well, it shouldn't astonish you. This blog sees those as the only choices for a team over the cap that has aversion to the luxury tax. Why should anything change with Rob's injury? Most of his rehab is off-season time.

Liam came up with a great description of what this blog is experiencing, Off-Season Disorder (OSD)  ;)

Ugh, three months after he last played this is needed?  That’s concerning.

I agree.  If they even suspected this prior, he needed to have surgery sooner.  This is ridiculous!

No training camp or pre-season injury for Rob!   He'll work his way back and by Game 15 or so he'll be Rob - with 67 games left.  Shortened season on the front end.  Meanwhile Brad will get something done to bolster the bench.

Yeah, the current situation with "Rob replacements" is a direct extension of how a lot of people here fall in love with every Joe Schmo the Cs sign for summer league or just to be a training camp body.

So Roy, I take it you believe Wyc is now going to open the wallet? The season hasn't even started and 2 players are injured. One is out for the year and the other can't seem to stay healthy. Other than Brogdon, the bench is still pretty awful. Does that strike you as a team that is heading towards a chip?

Maybe that's why Wyc made that bull statement.  He could have made it sooner and we could have used the 17M TPE, but no.

or, just don't make the bull statement and use the TPE if that's how you feel, Wyc.
