So, the large TPE is gone, and Gallo is a sunk cost.

Your mission:  build the best roster you can.

Step 1:  Sign Carmelo Anthony
Step 2:  Sign Boogie Cousins

Roster:

Timelord / Cousins / Kornet
Horford / Anthony
Tatum / Williams / Hauser
Brown / White
Smart / Brogdon / Pritchard

IR:  Gallinari

Two-way:  Kabengele, Davison

Trade:  TPE + protected #2 for Rudy Gay (must be done at least two months prior to trade deadline)

Trade #2 (two months after first deal):  Gay + Gallo + Kornet + #1 + POR/HOU #2s for Harrison Barnes

Trade #3:  Trade cash for Gorgui Dieng

Post-deadline:  After Josh Richardson is bought out, sign him with DPE.

Timelord / Cousins / Dieng
Horford / Barnes / Anthony
Tatum / Williams / Hauser
Brown / White / Richardson
Smart / Brogdon / Pritchard

Championship. ;)

I think the Celtics should wait at the moment.

There are no free agents out there the would be in the rotation.   Maybe a player will be available for one to the TPE when teams make cuts.

I think the time to use these would be when teams have played a month or two and have to look at their teams.

I definitely don't think you are wrong to preach patience.  Of course impatience drives us and leads us to conclusions (e.g., Cs management is unwilling to pay what it takes to build a championship roster) -- which are sometimes proven to be accurate and sometimes not.  Time will tell.

I know Cousins has struggled with health but as a third rotation big he could be fine. Melo is also interesting. I'm not sure what is the best move till we see what happens early season. I'd wait on seeing the Brogdon fit.

I believe Brad will NEVER pick up Cousins. Because of the way that he wastes possessions by arguing with the ref or not getting back on defense because he's upset over something. Boogie's ship has SAILED. I'd take Dwight or Melo over him, and I can't stand either of them.

Have you seen Jayson Tatum play?

I’m wary of Cousins. The Bucks were willing to cut him after a couple months experiment with him last season, and the Nuggets didn’t even bother entertaining bringing him back.

If that's his thinking it's a shame, because Boogie is the best combination of scoring, shooting, rebounding and passing available.  But, if people are more defensively oriented, I'm fine with Whiteside or Dwight.  Temporarily losing focus isn't a good thing (something that all of Cousins / Whiteside / Dwight do), but I think it's better than running Kornet / Vonleh / Bruno out there.

By things I read the bucks actually wanted him back but was related luxury stuff and maintaining an open roster spot. Not sure what really happened with the nuggets.

Brad only seems to bring in high character guys. I don’t see him signing any of those players regardless of whether they are more talented than what the C’s currently have. He’s had many opportunities to add the guys mentioned above and he passes every time.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

All these guys are jerks, which is one reason they haven't been signed.
