Derek Carr benched for Jarrett Stidham.

Carr is stepping away from the team after being benched. Devante Adams doesn't seem happy about the demotion as he was the reason why Adams came to the Raiders. I think McDoofus has lost the locker room.
I think Raiders may fire him

Adams wasn't a FA. He was traded to the Raiders. The owner already commented on Josh’s job status last month and I’d imagine he’s notified before major decisions (like benching Carr) are made.

"People in today's world want instant gratification. The guy's coached nine games. We're 2-7, not the results we're looking for but at the same time we've lost six one-score games with the ball and a chance to win at the end," Davis said.

Asked about giving a vote of confidence to McDaniels, who was hired in January, Davis said that happened when he signed him to a deal.

"I gave him my vote of confidence when I signed him to a contract to be coach of the Raiders. That's when I gave it to him," he told ESPN.

Davis added: "Rome was not built in a day."

That's just weasel language for "we know our coach sucks, but we're too cheap to pay for a third head coach under contract".

I'm not quite sure how the Raiders' offense is as bad as it is.  Carr is at least average, the running game is very good, Adams is a top-3 receiver, etc.

Either way, I think McDaniels job is safe for this season. Would imagine he’ll be on a short leash next year, though. Carr has been pretty bad over the last 5 games, throwing 9TD’s and 9Int’s. I don’t think he’s a good enough QB to build around.

How much is Carr, and how much is the system?

Completion percentage (2018 -> 2022):  68.9%, 70.4%, 67.3%, 68.4%, 60.8%

QB Rtg (2018 -> 2022): 93.9, 100.8, 101.4, 94.0, 86.3

What that shows is a guy who is a good QB having an awful year.

Carr will likely never be a great QB, but he’s a solid tier-2 guy, meaning he’s better than about half to two-thirds of QBs, so it would be difficult for the Raiders to find a better QB outside of drafting one. I still maintain that McDaniels is simply not a good head coach.

Impossible to say, but apparently McDaniels doesn’t feel like he’s the right guy for the job. Otherwise why not let him continue to learn the system and get in rhythm with his teammates for the remaining games. The Raiders haven’t even been eliminated from the playoffs at this point. That says a lot. I don’t think Carr is a bad QB, but he’s definitely in that second tier.

Carr is probably a second tier QB, but McDaniels is a bottom-tier head coach.

McDaniels has not been good, but to be fair, Josh was only 33 years old when he first was a HC and then fired the next season. If he can’t figure it out next year, I will agree.

Unless Tampa Bay makes some serious noise in the playoffs, I can’t see Brady sticking around. A McDaniels and Brady reunion is Vegas? That would be something… The only teams I could see Tom going to are the Raiders and the Niners.

Don’t count out the Dolphins. The situation with Tua may be worse than we suspect. Dolphins would make a financial killing if they signed Brady and traded Tua for a top quality RB for Brady. Tom’s gonna probably play until he’s 50, so it’s not a bad bet for the Dolphins. Been 50 years since they last won a Super Bowl, so they’re due. Nobody’s QB’d three different franchises to a Super Bowl, so this is the next natural thing for Brady to try for. Why leave Florida when the best WR duo and one of the best LTs in the league is on the Dolphins?

Brady even owns a home in Miami and two of his kids live there. I’d bet on Tom joining the Dolphins after he negotiates some killer deal for part-ownership of the club, in return playing for relative peanuts given the ownership and sponsorship deals he would have by conquering all of Florida with move to Miami.

Brady to Mike Evans TD to make it a 22-21 lead. 2-pt conversion good, 24-21 now.

I'm looking forward to Colts vs. Texans next week.  If Houston can win, the Bears should end up with the #1 pick.

What a terrible trade for the Bears, giving up their second rounder for Claypool.

Brady with another vintage performance. Throwing for 432yards and 3TD’s, clinching the division with the win.

Yeah that was absolutely vintage Brady. He willed them to victory and Mike Evans also woke up and had a monster day.

I'll be honest I still think the Bucs will go one-and-done but then again, can you ever count out Brady?

Brady just isn’t that great any more. He is any average qb (which is incredible for 45)
