@ShamsCharania

After receiving further evaluation, Boston’s Danilo Gallinari has been diagnosed with a torn ACL in his left knee, per sources. This is the same ACL that Gallinari tore in 2013.

Cripes.  Did his doctors not know how to run the MRI machine?

That's sucky news.  Sign Carmelo, and apply for the Disabled Player Exception.

So he’s out this season and likely will opt into 2nd year though unlikely to play until the latter part if at all. This is terrible news.

Awesome! The news just keeps getting better!

Time to make a move Brad. Cannot go into the season with Sam Hauser as your primary wing off the bench. Probably need another big since Gallo was going to spell Al at times.

Everyone assumes Mello. I’m thinking Jabari Parker more likely.

I don't think an ACL should keep him out 13+ months, and certainly not 16+ like you're predicting.  But, it sucks.

This is one of the reasons that dumpster diving for end of bench free agents is a lousy strategy.  There's nobody to step in.

Why?  Carmelo is better in every facet of the game.

I sure hope not. That guy gives you zero. Might as well just keep playing Tatum and brown heavy minutes

Sucks. Really need to get Melo now. Would be further better leadership, and it’d be cool for him to finally get a ring with Boston.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Good news is they have open roster spots, and this is the type of opportunity some of those vets were waiting for to open up to sign onto.

For a 34 year old player, That is unrealistic recovery period. And to be back 100%, 18 months at that age is optimistic.

Awful news.

Always seems to be a stomach punch with injury news.

There is nobody on the bench that can fill Gallo’s minutes and rotation spots. Not any of the scrap heap summer league signings, no camp guys, not Hauser, not Kornet, not Thomas.

Boston needs a proven guy that can actually contribute and isn’t just an empty uniform.
