Likewise, if he wants us to move JB/Smart for KD and that’s something on the table, he can lobby for it and nobody has to know? This is the power of being an all-NBA first teamer at 24 years old.
The name of the game is keep your superstar happy. We’re fortunate that, like the Bucks, we have one of the two most humble superstars in the league. The question is whether JT has the killer instinct just like Giannis—that’s how championships are won, folks. And JT can headline the 25 new inductees of the NBA 100 Team in 25 years if he wins championships in Boston, keeping us as the winningest franchise in history. Is it more likely to happen with JB/Smart or KD, JT?
Do you agree that JT effectively has veto power here—and if so, do you think JT realizes it?
I think he does have veto power, and I think no matter what happens, with it increasingly clear we are the front-runners for KD if we really want him, we need to back the decision of our superstar, whether he lets the KD deal go through or we run back the same team. Either way, it’s what JT wants and I just want what JT wants.
