These stats are wild take a look.

Freshman year

13.8 ppg 6.3apg 6.8 rpg 2.5spg 2bpg

Sophomore

18.5ppg 5.8 apg 8rpg 2.9spg 2.5bpg

Junior year I can score year

34ppg 1Apg! 2.7rpg 1spg 1bpg

Senior

32.5ppg 4.9apg 10.8 rpg 3.6 bpg 2.5 spg

These stats tell a heck of a story.  Talk about a guy who is still finding out who he is as a player. And helps explain his off year at Alabama.

Man this kid can do whatever he wants on the basketball court and is a piece of clay that Ime can mold into whatever he sees fit.

He has a ton of talent. Now all he needs to do is work his ass off!

I'm really happy we got this kid. I was scouting him earlier in the year before we traded our first-round pick. I thought he'd be a better NBA player than a college one. But I stopped following him and was really surprised when we got him so late in the draft.

Signs of a work ethic in Summer League: much improved left hand dribble and finish.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021
