I still can’t believe Danny thought Kyrie was the answer. Kyrie nearly set this franchise back to the same place Danny inherited it in 2003—we are incredibly lucky that Wyc/Stevens had the brilliant foresight to get Stevens off the court, keep Stevens’ basketball savvy as GM, and bring in Ime for coaching. I still can’t believe Danny thought Kyrie was the answer. Kyrie nearly set this franchise back to the same place Danny inherited it in 2005–we are incredibly lucky that Wyc/Stevens had the brilliant foresight to get Stevens off the court and bring in Ime.

Ainge made a lot of great moves to get this team back into contention after the KG-Pierce-Ray era. He got impatient as he got older though and made several rash moves, including trading for Kyrie, trading for Kemba, and never deciding which direction to go in as he kept stashing picks and young guys while trying to contend with vets, which left the team with a crap bench every year.
