A Word on Aaron Nesmith

I hope the move to Indiana helps him figure it out because I don't think it was going to happen in Boston. He seems like a hard-working guy and always brought a ton of energy but he was supposed to be a shooter and never looked like one here.

That said, I won't be surprised at all if he hits 5 threes in a game against Boston next season. And if he does, I'll be happy for him.

Yeah, the game was moving too fast for him at both ends, and that’s a tough thing to fix on a title-contending team.   Good luck to him, but even if he has great success in the future I won’t regret the trade.  He had little hope of a successful career here at this point.

Good pickup for IND. Nesmith has some talent. He could be a good long term rotation player for them.

I hope so anyway. I am rooting for him.

Seeing Nesmith go to Pacers for me was like Pacers getting another low first. Nesmith said he was the best shooter at practice, not good but the best. He acknowledged he hasn't been good at all shooting it in real game. If it clicks in game for him Pacers got a great deal for Brogdon just in getting him.

I can see him developing into a 16 / 6 guy on 40% 3PT%.  He’s going to need a few seasons of minutes where he can make mistakes without being pulled.

I really like Aaron and appreciated his work ethic while he was here. I am happy that he is finally going to get an opportunity without the pressure of high team expectations and the Boston media.

I echo what others have said about seeing him turn into a productive NBA player, and agree that it just wasn't going to happen in Boston. Good luck Aaron - we're rooting for you!

Hard for a young player to get minutes on a contender.  When the chips were down, Kuminga fell out of the rotation for GS too… and he’s a much better prospect than Nesmith is.

I still think there’s a valuable player somewhere in Nesmith and hopefully a more developmental focus in Indy can get it out of him.  Rooting for the kid.

I like Nesmith too, but he can do well against all the other teams besides the Celtics

I wish him only the best. He was my pick that year and I still believe with consistent minutes he’ll be a pretty good player. 
It’s hard for a young player who doesn’t play for long periods of time. Hopefully with regular minutes he develops into a positive player.

I feel the same way, I wasn’t high on him as a pick but really appreciated how hard he played and his improvement as a defender. If he earns a consistent role with the Pacers he could easily become a nice rotational wing.
