It's pretty funny that so much of this thread is based on Jaylen liking a few tweets. This board would crash if we traded for KD based on his Twitter activity.

SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan

I think Jaylen has more good years ahead of him than Durant.

Undoubtedly. I think the question is whether Jaylen wants to spend those good years on the Celtics, and if he does not, what do we do?

I don’t think anyone is saying that Jaylen leaving for nothing would be better than acquiring something of value. KD is undoubtedly better than just something. As is Kyrie. I think Ben Simmons’ contract has negative value at this point, so I would not want to trade for him.

KD hasn’t fallen to Kyrie’s level of unreliability….. yet. I think it is interesting that people are willing to go out on a limb and say JB is disgruntled while completely ignoring Durant’s resume over the past couple of seasons.

Why is Jaylen disgruntled again?

I don’t really understand the premise. The Celtics are favorites (in Vegas) to win the championship, and Jaylen Brown is the second best player on the team. Where will he go to be the #1 on a better team? Also, he has the greatest chance of making the most $ in Boston. Also, by all accounts, he respects his coach. He is set up for success, and would be performing self sabotage by moving to another team. JKJB

I think the title of the thread is a little misleading.

Is Jaylen disgruntled? I believe he's currently rather gruntled in Boston. But look at the history of the league in regards to secondary stars.

Players of Brown's caliber almost always believe if they were given the reigns with the right players, they would be a superstar...heck even Pippen thought he could do it better than Jordan.

Wouldn’t this mean that JB is more concerned about his ego than winning (or making money)? Kinda seems like a dig at JB. If anything, he comes off as a measured, thoughtful member of a team on the rise.

I do wonder if Celticsblog have players on the team that they like. It just seems all summer long all people have been doing is bashing the team.

This is a good point. From the beginning of the playoffs, you would think that the Celtics were the disgruntled Lakers by many accounts on this site. We’ve got a good thing going here. Why does anxiety seem to get in the way of what could be enjoyment?

Unless he regresses next year, you offer him as much as you can. That is kind of the point of homegrown superstars. He is an athletic 2 way 26 year old top 20 player who has gotten better every year. He showed up and seemed like he cared IN THE FINALS.

You have to show that you value a player like that. If he chooses to leave after having full support from the franchise, there isn't much you can do.

PS - Coming from a huge Jaylen fan

Yeah, the Celtics had a playoff run, a great off season so far (Brogdon and Gallinari), their second round pick looks like a steal, and all some appear to be are worried about is a Tweet showing Brown hanging out with Kyrie and an agent.

Someone said in another post that the Celtics need to do all they can to make Brown comfortable and perhaps more importantly, put the best players possible around Tatum and Brown.  Brown is going go through periods where he is at varying levels of gruntledness.  He has 2 more seasons on his contract.  Just focus on this season.  Nothing more you can do.  Worry about Brown leaving if he is unhappy in 18 months.

Doesn't this create the Groucho Marx paradox?

I would never date a woman willing to go out with me

I want to win a tile, but I would never want to have a really good 2nd best player on our team
