Is JB unappreciated? Whether or not he actually is disgruntled... if he were would it be valid?

If the reaction of a minority of fans makes somebody disgruntled, then no, it’s not valid.

The real question for the Celtics is, what is the probability that JB leaves in free agency in two years?  If it’s 50% or higher, we probably need to pull the trigger on a Kevin Durant trade.

Frankly, I'd pull the trigger on a Durant trade anyway.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - Noah,
Deep Bench -

Yeah.  I really like Brown, but let’s say the trade was Brown + Grant + Pritchard + #1s for Durant + Curry (TPE).

Timelord / (Bryant)
Durant / Horford / Hauser
Tatum / Gallo
Smart / Curry
Brogdon / White / (Augustin)

That team probably wins more titles than just sticking with JB.

I'm going to stubbornly refuse to admit the reasoning here, stifle my excitement after actually looking at that lineup, and again profess my love and loyalty for Jaylen Brown.

Word is Jaylen and Malcolm Brogdon are good friends. If Brown is getting antsy at all, hopefully this helps.

picks would be the interesting part. With the Brogdon trade, that means Boston can only trade 25, 27, and 29 outright (and obviously 27 has the San Antonio swap component).  Would Boston make a 29 pick unprotected and would that be required?  Would they have to do swaps on all the even years?  Or does Boston hold more firm and be like Brown is BY FAR the best player you'd get, he is worth 3 1st's alone, so suck it up and take only 25 and 27 with swaps in 24 and 26.  Or something like that (that ensures no picks past KD are traded)

It was very unpopular trade that brought KG to Boston ,  but it was far more likely to have led to a title than Al Jefferson a fan fav would have.

I see similar deal here today with Brown .  …..if you really want to win now and get at least one title KD is more likely to punch that  ticket .

KD , Tatum can have their pick of stars to round out the team .  It would be THE team to play for  and worth playing taxes .  If your the owners ,  you now have the BEST basketball show on the planet .

I m a huge Brown fan , but I definitely see what KD could mean

As much as I like JB, and how exciting he can be at times, he still struggles against the half-court playoff defense.

Durant won’t go driving into 2-3 defenders without a plan. Durant won’t dribble the ball off his foot. Durant will be able to grab the offensive rebounds that JB missed. The drop off in defense is a thing, but I think it’s marginal compared to the upside on offense.

It will give Tatum another year to develop into true number one. He can be Durant’s sidekick for a year and learn how to attack and pass out of double teams without turning the ball over. His stand youth should supplant Durant after that and we’re still at 2 top 10 guys instead of 1 and a maybe 10-15 guy.

But then I have been a Durant fan since he was at Texas.

Leading up to the trade, there were several opinion polls showing fans didn’t want to trade Big Al for KG.  I can’t remember if that was before or after the Ray trade.

Once the trade actually did happen, though, the city seemed ecstatic.

I don’t think the Al Jefferson - KG situation is that similar to JB and KD at all.  Jaylen just came off leading us in scoring in the finals after being a pretty awesome #2 to Tatum in the previous series.  Al Jefferson didn’t have the resume that Jaylen has, it isn’t close.

Some people may want to trade Brown for KD but this situation isn’t as cut and dried as trading Al for KG.

That was a terrific ad and it hits pretty hard because I actually remember where I was when I heard the KG news. I was 19, in my parents' living room and I started jumping up and down.
