I think he'll be a better NBA player than a college player. More room to move and a faster game.

I like the strategy of taking a very athletic PG who needs to improve his shooting and handle. Can’t teach athleticism. Boom or bust in the late 2nd round is the way to go.  Maybe he develops his skills. He’s only 19.

I'd be curious why he came out this season. He was obviously going to be a project no matter who drafted him.

I don't know how you waste a pick with such minimal value anyways. It's like dropping a scratch ticket that could maybe win you $10.

Remind me where the reigning back-to-back MVP got drafted?

Beyond that outlier, there is obvious value in the 2nd round that our front office has punted down the toilet with such a random pick.

Jokic was pick at 41, aka not at 53, 12 picks later. Please take a look at all the players drafted at 53 and tell me there is "obvious value". You'll be there for a while, unless you think the likes of Pape Sy, Tadija Dragićević, and Yotam Halperin are "obvious value".

So, you wanted a guy with a higher ceiling? Who?

Last season Wiggins, Garza, Boston, Sims and Mamukelashvili were all taken after pick 50. Season prior to that, Kenyon Martin Jr., Paul Reed and Isaiah Joe (pick 49). Prior to that was weak with only McDaniels as the decent rotation guy after pick 50, but THT, Roby and Terrence Mann were all taken 45-48. Prior to that was Shake Milton, with Diallo, Melton, Svi Mykhailuk and Bruce Brown all taken 42-47.

Do I need to continue?

The guy taken immediately afterward, Yannick Nzosa. Could likely have left him in Europe too if we wanted.

I would have taken Justin Lewis or Jabari Walker though.

And some of the fans of the teams that drafted all of those guys you mentioned were probably saying how they were wasted picks too. You have a strong opinion but Brad Stevens does too. Call me crazy but why don’t we just see how it plays out.

Love the pick. Stevens has a natural ability for finding diamonds in the rough going back to his recruiting at Butler. The kid is raw talent in need of advanced coaching, just like Begarin. Let’s bring him and Begarin in as 13/14 guys.

I'm surprised Hugo Besson went all the way to the last pick.

I'm more than willing to wait and see - now that he's a Celtic I will wish success 100%. I just think it was stupid. Doesn't fit a need, his problem areas are the biggest problem areas for our team, he's raw, he can't be stashed in Europe, and so on.
