Just watched The Americans after Widow's Bay inspired me to go on a Matthew Rhys kick.

One of the best shows I've seen.

as  good as Keri Russell was in the Americans, I think she's even better in The Diplomat if you get the chance to catch that.  there's no Matthew Rhys but still an excellent show

My wife enjoyed the Diplomat, but it never really caught me.

The Americans was great.  I hadn't seen him in anything since, so it was nice to see him in Widow's Bay.  He has an endearingly twisted way about him.

I am enjoying ? Lanterns? . I haven?t liked anything so far from Gunn?s DCU . It?s not for me. I like this show because it has a serious tone. I guess it?s popular overall but comic fans as usual are bickering and name calling over how characters are or are NOT conic book accurate. I don?t care at all so maybe that?s why I enjoy it.

You are not alone...show holds a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.  I like it also, reminds me a bit of early True Detective.

East Of Eden on Netflix. Incredible. Really does justice to the Steinbeck novel - one of the greatest American novels of all time imo.

The Gentlemen on Netflix is excellent. Acting and writing great.

Dark Winds I give a mixed review. Some episodes were terrific and some were poorly done.  But overall a series worthy watching IMO.

I'm finishing the 1st season of Dark Matter on Apple+.  I was not familiar with it when it was released in 2024, but was hearing a lot of buzz about the recent release of its 2nd season. I am enjoying it...its a chaotic thriller based on quantum mechanics.... Check it out, its worth it.

I loved Widow?s Bay . I respect the talent but I usually don?t watch many comedy in horror but I cackled a couple of times out loud watching that show alone. Can?t wait for a Season 2.

East of Eden. Netflix? new adaptation of the novel.

Not sure I can articulate my thoughts and feelings about this one. I definitely found it engaging enough to want to watch the full 7 episodes. But there were many moments of irritation with characters, dialogue and some of the acting. I wouldn?t be surprised if this gets a good deal of award recognition, though as I said, I had mixed thoughts, mostly about unlikable characters  that made disappointing choices given what we knew about them. Im embarrassed to say that IF I read the Steinbeck novel, it was so long ago that I can?t really remember what I thought about it and I don?t know how closely this adaptation mirrored the book. It was clearly Steinbeck?s intent to show the good-bad mix within humans, but the way this lesson manifested didn?t always feel genuine to me.

Band of Brothers for the 4th time.

Personally, I believe every American should watch the full series to understand what was sacrificed for them.
The Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett - Tatum

The Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce - Brown

Oooooh...didn't know the new season started.

I was just watching a documentary about an ancient Turkish underground city that made me think of Silo.
