What is the Last TV Series You Watched?

I enjoyed Maul: Shadow Lord.   Some of the best SW animation I've seen.  The lightsaber fights alone are incredible.  Story was so-so but satisfying enough.  Does a good job of expanding that grey area between good guys and bad guys and expounds on their perspective of everything.

Plus, any depiction of [that Big Bad] (omitted for spoiler reasons) is pretty awesome.

Finished Bingeing "Death By Lightning" a few days ago. It is as good as all the YouTube history buffs said it was. Also, it's a good cautionary tale for people, such as myself, who got run out of a public sector job because of political machinations outside of our control

I'm also just beginning The Americans (old but good). I watched The Diplomat and figured might as well watch Keri Russell's other recent drama.

I'm also just beginning The Americans (old but good). I watched The Diplomat and figured might as well watch Keri Russell's other recent drama.

I've caught a couple episodes of Rooster and enjoyed it.  Need to circle back.  Americans was a definite faviorite when it was on.

I've been watching One Piece on Netfix.  I'm guessing I'm a little older than the target audience, but I've been enjoying the look of the world and the characters.  Perfect mush for my brain right before bed.

I have one more episode of The Boys to go.  They're definitely not super subtle in their political satire! 

Dan Levy's new series, Big Mistakes, on Netflix has some very good characters and is worth a few chuckles every episode.  From the makers of Schitt's Creek.

Decided to rewatch The Man in the High Castle.  The show explores a what-if scenario where the Axis powers won World War II and took control of the U.S.  The Eastern half and Midwest is ruled by Nazi Germany.  The West Coast is governed by the Empire of Japan, with a neutral zone along the Rocky Mountains.  If you like dystopian thrillers, this show is for you.  When the pilot aired in 2015 by Amazon, it was the most-watched pilot ever.  Currently streaming on Netflix.

I?m a little embarrassed to recommend Brockmire, but I think Hank Azaria is brilliant in it. If you like quirky and dark comedy and are ok with grotesque, you may like it. I don?t watch this with my wife and it is not for kids. Azaria plays a disgraced baseball announcer with an alcohol problem. There are some episodes I wouldn?t recommend but there are also some great ones. Azaria is a voice guy and his Brockmire is terrific.  I think the show is leaving Netflix in a couple of weeks.

That's funny, I'm 2 of 4 seasons into Man in the High Castle. Not my usual type of show, but still really interesting. I only got started on it because I randomly watched The Diplomat, which also co-stars Rufus Sewell. The Diplomat shares some parallels to House of Cards, and it's a show I'd also recommend, but I wasn't crazy about season 3. Luckily, there will be a season 4 since it is a current show. Allison Janney and Bradley Whitford, who are both real selling points to me, come along in season 2 and really do help round out the cast.

The Man in the High Castle was great.  Sort of put Amazon Prime on the map as a studio.  The costuming and sets are great.  And the main German dude (Smythe was it?) is a well played complex antagonist.

Netflix cancelled The Boroughs after one season.  I'm surprised, because not only was it a solid show, but it seemed to have a long stay in Netflix's top ten.

Not sure how the streaming services make the call on who they cancel.  Countdown was cancelled after one season on Amazon Prime.  It was very popular and unfortunately ended on a cliffhanger, and don't get me started on cliffhangers, they should be abolished!

Then, why was it cancelled? Well, Netflix have started cutting down on the big-budget genre shows they've been known for - like Stranger Things.

We don't have a public budget amount for The Boroughs, but considering the ensemble cast, New Mexico filming location, VFX, and more, it's likely costing them millions per episode.

This type of investment for a company like Netflix is only worth it if it translates into millions tuning into the show, new subscribers being gained, and people actually completing it.

After the news of the series' cancellation, many people on social media have shared their reactions. Thousands said they never watched the show or never finished it, even though it had really good reviews.

Yeah, I was surprised that they went with a comedy vibe, but it really worked.  AppleTV continues to put out great products.

In more of a "pure horror" mixed with a puzzle box, I really enjoy From on MGM+.  It's probably best not to think too hard, but I'm really interested to see how the writers conclude it next season.
