Last night's AKOTSK:

That episode was really good. Wish it was longer than 25 mins, though!

FWatched it last night.  I was expected more action in the battle royale based on the meme lol.

***SPOILERS***  Yeah, with the whole thing being from Dunk's point of view -- and him being knocked out for part of that -- we didn't see as much of the battle as I'm sure almost all of us hoped for.  The episode was only like 25 minutes long.  But, I've also heard it discussed elsewhere that these battles just wouldn't last much longer, that a knight's / soldier's endurance in hand-to-hand combat would be only a few minutes.  So, I'll take what I can get.

Dunk didn't suffer any amputations, but he got a pretty deep stab would, some cuts, a few mace bashings to the head.  Not quite the Black Knight, but he earned his keep.

At least it wasn't No Country For Old Men style.

How are people feeling about Wonder Man? The trailer didn't seem interesting at all but after I saw all these good reviews, I figured I would give it a try and I am still not impressed. It's too slow and although I understand they are stressing the challenges of making into the show business, I am not that interested in that topic. Not a lot of action and just very slow building to my liking. I heard episode 4 was a great one and although it was unique, I don't think it was groundbreaking or anything.

I?m so tired of the superhero genre. But at least this one ( if I?m reading correctly) isn?t another jokey one. I can?t believe DC putting there brand in the hands of James Gunn. Peacemaker .. I just don?t get it. Orgies? Really? I?m not offended by gross out humor but it?s just so lazy and usually not funny ( IMO).

I?m watching ? Falling Skies?. I?m not sure when this aired. It has pretty good effects for a sci fi tv show. But I?m sorta fast forwarding through it. I like the genre but it?s very network tv formulaic . Really goofy plots and the lead characters voice changes back and forth . A lot of weird decisions. But I want to see how it ends.

I saw it when it first ran -- I want to say about a decade ago (at least it feels that long).  it's ok.  it has its moments.

It seems pretty clear they didn't have a huge budget for the show.  It was at night without much expensive action taking place.  Just not opening the checkbook much.

Where the dragons at?  :D

I guess there was the puppet.  That had to cost some big bucks.

The dragons are the only reason I watched HOD.  Not a great show. LOL

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

DTF St. Louis on HBO.

It's a beautiful and poignant series, and it says interesting things about "normal" versus what we portray to the neighbors.

I had a tough time with the resolution though.

Finished The Crown a few weeks ago. Not something I would typically watch, but it had some big name actors (Jared Harris, Helena Bonham Carter, John Lithgow, Matt Smith, Vanessa Kirby, Dominic West, Gillian Anderson, etc.) so I gave it a go. Really well done. It must have cost a fortune to make that series.

Finally got Apple TV. Binged Ted Lasso.  All 3 seasons are good, but that 1st season is an all time great televison season. Looking forward to season 4 and the women's team.  Wife and I are now binging The Morning Show.  A bit darker than I thought it would be, but good show as we are into season 3 now.  We've done a couple episodes of Shrinking (watch with in-laws, so dknt watch as much). It is really good.  May be up there with Lasso.

AppleTV might be, show-for-show, the best streamer out there.

Silo is great.  Severance (specifically Season 1) is phenomenal.  I really liked Black Bird.  Slow Horses might be my favorite show that releases one season per year (i.e., no three year gaps).

Your Friends and Neighbors is entertaining.  Pluribus is good, although I didn't like it as much as some critics did.  Servant was somewhere between watchable and pretty good; it got a little off-course and dragged out.  The Studio is fun.  Presumed Innocent was a good watch.  So was Defending Jacob.  I liked Smoke, but I'm not sure that everyone would.

Masters of The Air was very intense, and at the very least the first half is comparable to Band of Brothers.  Foundation is really good, although it can unravel at times.  Hijack, particularly the first season, is worth a watch.  Sugar was interesting (don't read spoilers).  I really liked Invasion at first and thought it was a hidden gem; it has gone downhill.  Dark Matter was really good, although you never see it on "top 10" lists.

And I know I'm missing a lot.

The Last Thing He Told Me had a pretty good first season.  only a couple of episodes into the second season so far but it's a good show as well as the others you've mentioned

Decided to rewatch The Man in the High Castle.  The show explores a what-if scenario where the Axis powers won World War II and took control of the U.S.  The Eastern half and Midwest is ruled by Nazi Germany.  The West Coast is governed by the Empire of Japan, with a neutral zone along the Rocky Mountains.  If you like dystopian thrillers, this show is for you.  When the pilot aired in 2015 by Amazon, it was the most-watched pilot ever.  Currently streaming on Netflix.
