What is the Last TV Series You Watched?

Task on HBO. Incredible.

Only two episodes in but its checking every box for what I look for in a TV Show.

Very good show so far.

Just started watching Regime (I think it's HBO).  Kate Winslett plays a super quirky leader of a fictitious European country.  Pretty well done.  2 episodes in and definitely want to see where it goes.

I gave it 2 episodes and really didn't care for it.

I binged through both House of Guinness and Black Rabbit this weekend.

They're both worth watching, but they're both flawed.  Black Rabbit's two leads outperformed a script that had a few too many nonsense character decisions for me.  I think they got 3.4 of the way there with some interesting story concepts that they could have explored, but cut some corners.

House of Guinness could have used some more star power, or something.  I just didn't feel an attachment to the main characters as much as I should have.  It's watchable, but it's not compelling in the way that Peaky Blinders was (another historical drama created by Steven Knight).

I watched the first epoisode of Black Rabbit, and kinda feel the same.  I know there will be a twist, but the beginning being the end seems to not work so well in this case.  It's like watching the Titanic!

The third seasomn of Tulsa Kings started.  It's very cheesy and over the top, but I can't help myself.  I still enjoy it.

Working my way through season 1 of 'The Pitt'. It is intense, sometimes straying into melodrama, but compelling television.

My daughter just talked up A Thousand Blows on Hulu.  I watched the first 2 episodes and only necessary sleep kept me from binging more.  I thought it was excellent and look forward to continuing with the story.

Haven?t seen Guinness but am well into Black Rabbit and your assessment is spot on.  I?m a Jason Bateman fan and he delivers as does Jude Law.  But the story/writing is flawed. Definitely good enough to watch the full series but not great.

LDCF - I?m halfway through the day on Pitt and I?d agree it iscompelling. It?s ER evolved into modern day realism sometimes a bit gratuitous but mostly worth the gruesome detail.  Acting is good; liking the characters.  Subplots mostly work though I can do without Robby?s flashbacks to the day his mentor died. I expect more to come of that before the shift is done.

Also, struggling with this season of Tulsa King.  I feel like it's a lot like Countdown in that they could have made two seasons out of the two story lines they're feeding us, unless somewhere they tie together.

That's where I'm at.  It's a pretty goofy show, but I like Sly.  There are some shows that I watch just to turn my brain off.

I've liked Task so far.  Not a classic, but the hero vs. sympathetic bad guy vs. unsympathetic villain structure works for me.  In part, it's because I have met a lot of Robbies in real life (albeit on a slightly lesser scale).

A couple of other shows I'm watching...

Gen V, season 2.  It seems to be going through a bit of a sophomore slump.  I'm sure this in part is due to a member of the cast dying, and not being recast.   The energy definitely seems to be off.  There's not as much humor, and the chemistry isn't what it should be.  The underlying story has potential, but it's stretched pretty thin at this point. 

Slow Horses, season 5.  This is one of my favorite shows, based upon the strength of its cast.  So far season 5 is a little bit stuck in place, and the Roddy storyline is particularly far-fetched, but I still look forward to it every week.

Invasion, season 3.  This series has gone progressively downhill, to the point where I'm not sure why I'm still watching.  I have been assuming that this would be its last season, but I read there's one final season planned (although it hasn't been renewed yet).  I enjoyed the first season, but I'm not sure what the point is anymore.

Yeh.  Watched a couple of episodes and sort of forgot about it til you mentioned it.  It's getting way too teeny bopper lovey dovey for me I think.  Which I felt like they did a good kjob mostly avoiding in the first season - a good trick consisering it's about high school super heros.
