As discussed last night, the Tatum needs to step up thread that was posted seemed to work for Tatum but most of the others didn't show up.

Lets hope this thread produces the magic  ;D

They need to play full out and fast for 48. If that means rotating more bodies in and out of the line up then so be it!

The team is gassed, banged up, and maybe a bit overwhelmed.  It's time for everybody to get up off the mat, hulk up, and bodyslam these Warrior punks.

Agreed.  I’ve been feeling this for a while.  Cant believe Im gonna say it but, even play…(gulp)…Nesmith.  Only for 2 -3 minute spurts. Task him to bring EXTREME defensive energy and pressure and ensure he moves without the ball, even a couple back cuts.  Get him in and out.
GS went 10 deep in game 5, we only went 8 deep and those guys played minimal minutes.  We gotta be “balls to the wall” energy!

Yeah I'm not against it. Even if Nesmith comes in and simply gets a block or maybe a few quick rebounds that could also provide a spark.

I'm all in with this idea with idea - the exception being not to have him on the court with Prichard. They don't seem to  work well together.

Also, Nesmith can't park himself at 3 point line on every play. Ime has to get him involved in the offense. Let him know he's only in there for 2-3 minutes.

Not to stand around on defense - take risks double teaming sometimes - occasionally collapsing on the player closer to the hoop. That's what GS does throughout the game.

Is Nesmith going to keep the other 4 clowns from handing the ball over to GS? Will he make them move and not stand and watch as the ball handler gets swarmed?
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Not just Nesmith, but the whole team. Smart said it postgame after Game 4, but it's hard to really run plays or get easy buckets when everyone is just standing around. And he's right.

I remember a sequence in Game 4 where Smart bought the ball up and White was standing in the corner with a defender on him. Smart kept motioning for him to make a move or cut to the basket but White just stood there staring at Smart and looking confused, and Smart visibly looked frustrated. That possession basically ended with very little movement from the others and so Smart passed it to Jaylen late in the shotclock and he had to take a contested jumper that missed.

We've seen how lethal this team can be in transition and when the ball is moving during Games 1 and 3, but idk why they go away from it. Maybe fearing turnovers but I mean, they tend to turn the ball over anyways  :P

I can't say that Nesmith is who I have in mind.  I guess if we need an energy boost, maybe, but he's not going to help the offense at this point.

I think this is another example of being hurt by only having nine NBA players on a 15 man roster.  We needed to either develop the guys we had, or should have brought in better players in general.  Nesmith is a "break glass in case of emergency" guy, Theis is close to that at this point based on his playing time, and we've got five other players who are completely unplayable.

the standing in the corner offense is from the Brad/Ime school of coaching.  hate it with a passion.  guess the idea is guys in the corners drag 2 defenders out of position to help on drives and can receive passes if their man leaves them but that requires someone who can drive and pass who also has the ability to score in the lane.  we don't do that well.  Also, having 2 guys just standing in the corner makes it easy on the D because they know those players won't leave that spot for cuts or to help the ball handler if they're pressured.  Also helps the D gather defensive rebounds as well as get out ahead of the defense on a fast break opportunity.

hate this offense.  whether the C's win the title or not, Ime needs to bring in an assistant that can implement and coach a real offensive scheme that can manufacture points more consistently.

I can't be the only one who gets ticked watching these guys take halfcourt shots and doing all these tricks in practice when they're literally bricking free throws and layups during the game lol. I mean one of the clips I saw showed Timelord taking FTs in practice today and he's actually been one of our best FT shooters lately (shocker). But he was the only one.

Good on Timelord.

They're probably continuing to practice shooting half-court/60-foot 3's and not shooting 1,000 FTs a day nor practicing how to box out and rebound. If I was their head coach, after that unacceptable performance, I'd make them practice 500 FTs a day and I'm being generous.  ::)

Seriously, if you're gonna practice on your 3's...be real and practice in front of a defender hounding on your face or chasing you by your side. Or just even taking a 3 behind the arc undefended. Those are things to improve on taking 3's.

Maybe they should actually take some halfcourt shots during the live game and see if they go in. If they do then maybe we can just do what's working in practice

Definitely remember that play.  Exactly what I thought.  Confusion from White and frustration from Smart.  If we’re not moving the ball and just standing there, our offense makes it incredibly easy for GS to defend.
