Draymond Green after Game 2 of the finals Sunday night, bragged that he has earned biased treatment by officials in the NBA. He arrogantly stated that he could do what he wanted in Game 2 because he knew they would never hit him with a 2nd tech after the first he got in a skirmish with Grant Williams. He went so far as to lean in with the officials while they reviewed a possible flagrant against him in the 2nd half, which would have resulted in a game ejection. He literally stuck himself in there to intimidate the refs.

His quote, "I've earned differential treatment' from refs."
(Actually Draymond, the word is "deferential"). A differential is part of the rear axle of an automobile, nitwit.

How is it he gets away with all this ? Why didn't Ime go nuclear when Green pulled that stunt during the video review ?
Ime should have been all over the officials about Green's rough/dirty play tonite, which apparently, he knows he can do with impunity.
Not sure how he has "earned" this favorable treatment he refers to, though he got it last nite.
Jaylen wilted in the face of Green's aggression, Horford was non-existent and Marcus (our version of Draymond Green) should have been all in Green's face giving it right back to him. Grant sure wasn't afraid of the guy. We need to come out physical and ready Wednesday night and someone needs to put Draymond on his ass early and often.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

Lol, that’s exactly what I was thinking about his use of “differential.”  Dude is a goon and a bully.

if someone gets their first tech. shouldnt they be on eggshells rest of the game? I dont understand the explanation that "well they got first tech so should do whatever they want because refs dont want to eject him"

meanwhile Brown gets 2 ticky tack fouls and has to play soft the rest of the game. Although its a bad look for Green to be bragging on live tv about this.

League may step in for game 3 before it gets out of hand.

He’s def arrogant and he’s dirty. That little thing on the floor def didn’t deserve a tech. That was a whole lot of nothing.

I dont get why they let him scream, clap and wave off the refs consistently and let if go. I thought the league wanted this stuff gone...

Also he took our players out in transistion several times buy falling on them and not getting up. Not sure whos worse, Draymond or Lowry.

I mean, this is the guy who nut punched the choosen one, Lebron, in the finals and basically got away with it. He knows he can do whatever he wants.

That little thing on the floor was several things.  Landing on purpose with his legs on Jalen's face, pushing him in the back, and pulling down his shorts.  Looked like I saw a couple techs in there.

These comments just shine a spotlight on what was already a bad look for the league.  I am curious to see what comes of this.  I don't think it will be anything direct or public, but I do think the league is going to want to stop this in its tracks.  Probably the Warriors too.  This is not a good look for them either.

To come right out and say that he has earned "differential" treatment?  If the league lets this stand, they are tacitly saying they are OK with it, that they support it.  The NBA position: 'we support "differential" treatment for Draymond Green and by extension the Golden State Warriors'.

Yeah, that is fair.

He's not wrong.  Steve Javy admitted it.

Draymond could have hit somebody with a steel chair and he wouldn't have been given a tech.

Are we accepting the league is going to place it's thumbs on the scale to guide the series in the direction it wants?

If this game doesn't wake people up nothing will. We had a former ref admit they will turn a blind eye to making the right call based on a call before hand. Now you have this no talent goon admitting on live tv no less that he gets special treatment.

I know we don't want to admit it, because we all love this game, but the NBA is going to do what it can to provide entertainment rather than basketball. It's corrupt.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

I believe he is going to be ejected in game 3.  He is going to pick up his early tech like he always does and then is going to get hit with a 2nd one, even if the conduct is less than anything he did in game 2, the league is going to send a message.

Boston in 5
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

It’s crazy how we can see something in very different ways. I thought the thing on the ground was nada, and def didn’t approach hitting somebody with a metal chair. I watched the game with two other buddies (Celtics fans from MA) and they agreed that they should have played on with no tech. This is the same NBA playoffs where Laimbeer and Bird earned their techs.

For all the chatter around the referees being an undue influence on the outcome of the game, there are few things that an NBA referee can do to more directly influence a game than throw a player out with a technical foul.

So this creates the dissonance you're talking about -- players have to play soft to avoid 'actual' fouls, but in terms of behaviour they know that they'll really have to go beyond the pale to get the second tech.
"...unceasingly we are bombarded with pseudo-realities manufactured by very sophisticated people using very sophisticated electronic mechanisms. I do not distrust their motives; I distrust their power. They have a lot of it."

NBA always has done this. you almost could script how the officiating would be after game 1. it has been the same for the last 3 series. they want at least 6 games for the revenue.

had the celtics lost game 1, you almost would have expected the refs wouldve been in favor of the celtics game 2. they always want a split. BUT its bad product. game 1 even though we were losing in the 3rd quarter was much more exciting than game 2 where the first half lasted so long because of the foul calls.

now, expect a more evenly called game 3. but if the celtics win then game 4 will be scott foster to get it to 2-2. We need to be prepared for that and try and get two at home.
