Posted a similar topic earlier this year.  Point being we know Jayson can go off for 30 any night, 40 very often 50 on occasion and even 60 in one night.

As I said earlier this year the key will be his ability to draw defenders with all that attention he demands and find the open shooters.

Never a better example than game one. Where he had, 12 points on 3 for 17 shooting I believe.

He still controlled the game with his PG like 12 assists. So no thanks necessary, but your boy KGLL comes thru again with the keys to celtics title run

That's Tatum's growth. To impact the game even when your shot isn't falling and he has. Assists and defense.

He had an abysmal shooting night but an ok game

I wonder if the pinched nerve in the shoulder area Tatum had last series is still bothering him. My guess is yes as I have been through it myself.

You mean the fake Injury van gundy accused him of.  Surprised more hasn't been said of that.  Asshat van Gundy accusing a player of faking an injury.  Then he contradicts himself by stating he hates flopping then commends flop artis Lowry for doing such a good job at flopping

Sorry for the off topic rant but I agree.  Putting the ball in Tatum hand worked well as long as Tatum attacks quickly.  When he does it late in the clock he tends to have turnovers.

More shooting on the floor or at least the threat of it is the key to winning it all. Pritchards present on the floor and his rebounding helped change that fourth. Pritchard can play against these Warriors. I think Nesmith could also play as a physical freak that can move on both offense and defense.

can score and gives a guy some rest. not too shabby on D either tho right?

Next year.

There's lots of things that will be added and improved on this off-season. I can see JB working on his handle and get a better feel for not forcing drives. I can see White working on and improving his shooting. I can see Pritchard working more into the offense as a three point bench specialist like Grant. I can see Tatum taking a much bigger point forward role, along with his scoring.

This team has an immense potential to get even better through player development, because they are still so young.

I'd also like a good look at Hauser.

I like Hauser. His per-minute shooting was elite. 19/44 from deep in a limited sample size, would like to give him some more run

Sudden Sam has good size at 6'8".

He does. I'd like to see what he can do with a robust preseason under his belt. If he's passable on defence he could be a good 10th-11th man type player. I'm hopeful of something like this for next season (in terms of MPG):
1. Tatum
2. Brown
3. Smart
4. White
5. Horford
6. R Williams
7. G Williams
8. Pritchard
9. Theis
10. Nesmith / Hauser

This thread seemed to have gotten off track some but I am coming to it because I did not get a chance to see the 4th quarter until last night.  I saw Tatum playing like I had never seen him play before.  In the past, I would describe it as Tatum looking for his shot or his offense first but being a willing passer if he got doubled or if he saw an open cutter.  But he was usually looking to score first and then reacting off of that.

What he was doing in the 4th in Game 1 was he was actually running the offense, like Chris Paul would.  This may seem like a subtle difference but what I saw was him trying to run the offense, not be the first option of the offense.  And I don't think this was just about him being 3-17 or whatever it was.  I know I am not describing it very well but I saw a fundamental change in his approach in the 4th quarter.  The results speak for themselves.

The irrational love Aaron Nesmith gets on this board mystifies me. Hey, I want the kid to succeed too. But we're just making James Young very jealous here.
