Is this trash talking?  It seems to be he just describing what we all saw.  We sucked, we changed, we conquered.

Well, a bum of a player is calling our guys selfish and egotistical (but of course not himself).  It could be he means Schroder and Freedom, or it could be he means the guy who were blocking his imaginary spot in the rotation.

I mean, the change came well before the trade deadline, didn't it?  We had won 7 of 8 heading into the deadline, and in general are seen as having started the turnaround on December 31 (Phoenix game) or January 8 (a big win after being three games below .500) or January 23 (when we started to kill teams, winning 11 of 12 and finishing out the season 27-7).

Since Hernangomez was traded on January 19 for pure garbage, I'm attributing the turnaround to him being shipped out of town.  Team cancer, clearly.
Bum player?  Dude was actually in the locker room.  That's like, a zallion times more credible that the fan or commentator making that comment.  This is not shade at all.

Yeah, I'm sure our players that actually played love being called selfish and egotistical by our 14th man.

They didn't love it when Marcus said it either.  But is it inaccurate?  And, what is the context?

In terms of this quote, people way bending over backwards to get upset because of who is saying it.  So what?  I don't see any malice in the video (yes, I know Spanish).  He appears to be answering a question in the most honest way he can.  Also, it's all spoken in past tense, as in, that how is WAS (but clearly not how it IS now).

Marcus is a team leader, and he made comments seven games into the season.  Juancho is a bum who saw 96 minutes total in Boston, and decided to say critical things with the Celts on the verge of a title, with the benefit of hindsight.  And, Marcus said that JT and JB needed to continue to learn to move the ball.  He didn't say the guys had big egos or were selfish.

Marcus and Juancho effectively saying the same thing.  You over here killing the messenger.  Like I said, guys didn't like it when smart said it either.

And, pecking order only matters if you're talking about leadership within the team.  Juancho is gone; he's not trying to make change.  He's not trying to be a leader.  He's discussing history, which he has as much right (and insight) as anyone else who was in the room.  No need to get panties in a wad over it.

Eh.  I've got my right to perspective on it, as well.  I think that scrubs should keep their mouths shut will calling out their betters.  No need to defend him like he's your sister.

Agree with all of this.  A former player shared some things that he observed which seem to match reality.  I don't care how good the former player was.

Accurate or not, publicly criticizing a former employer is dumb, especially when you're barely hanging on to relevance for future potential employers.

It should also be noted that this is the second time Hernangomez has done this in a year, as he also took shots at Minnesota after he was traded.  I don't know what degree of truth there is to what he's said, but I do take with a grain of salt the comments of someone who was traded four times between August and February, all from playoff teams no less.

Good catch. I believe he stars in that Adam Sandler movie coming out, too. Maybe he's embracing the inner diva. Credit for having a cool sleeve on his left arm though.

Yeah, I forgot he’s in that Adam Sandler movie.  Comes out next week — have to feel that talking about the Celtics right now helps him get press.

I read this as him saying Schroeder and possibly Richardson kanter were selfish players messing up the team, and when we got rid of those guys the problem was solved. It doesn’t really make much sense any other way to me.

Also, if this was translated from a second language to English to may be coming off a bit differently than how it comes off in Spanish.
