Celtics-wise, I mean.

I absolutely am.  I’ve got a shirt I’ve worn twice this playoff run, both losses.  I’m not wearing that shirt any more.  I feel like certain threads “jinx” the team.  Other threads work like a reverse jinx.  And I will never, ever bet TPs on a game again.

It’s all silly, and totally irrational, but I buy in anyway.

Yeah but admittedly not as much as before. But I still am.

Wearing the same shirt-shorts combo that’s been successful this series (guess which two games I didn’t wear them for lol). Also I noticed that in the past month I bought a Starbucks Frappuccino 3 times. Those were the same days as C’s Bucks Game 1, Game 5 and then in this series, Game 3. So definitely avoiding those on game day  :P

I had something going in 2018 which was awesome, C’s were undefeated in home playoff games where I wore the same clothing combination (a Celtics shirt as part of it) but sadly that came to an end in ECF Game 7. But before that game the C’s were undefeated at home playoff games

Me and BringToughnessBack typically make predictions on the GDT and he puts a score prediction and I used to, until the two times I did recently they lost lol so I just predict what’ll happen but don’t post an actual score prediction

I a putting on my Garnett shirt tonight. The Smart jersey didn't work at all. That could have been his worst game in playoffs.

I am not sure if superstitious is the right word but absolutely, whatever it is, I am it.  It is actually more from being a Red Sox fan but it has carried over to the Celtics.

I am the same in that I acknowledge that it is irrational and illogical, but I just feel worse if I make a prediction or look past a game or opponent and then the team losses.  Or if I act like I know the team is going to win or is better or whatever.  It feels like every time I do that, they lose for sure.  I have not kept track so the reality is probably different than what it feels like but what it feels like is all that matters to me.

So you will hear no talk of GSW from me.  I actually slipped up and commented in the "Who has been the ECF MVP so far" thread.  That was clearly a mistake.  I thought it was safe because it was conditioned with "so far", but that did not fool the basketball gods and they punished me for my mistake.  Rest assured that will not happen again.

I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious

On a more serious note, I know nothing I do has any effect on the game but I'll still refuse to wear shirts if we have any recent losses while wearing it. Unfortunately that includes most of my Celtics shirts this postseason lol
I'm bitter.

Nothing I do other than supporting their cable revenues or showing up at games once in a blue moon is going to do a [dang] thing.

Otherwise, we'd have north of 50 titles.

I’ve been really superstitious, badly, going back to baseball as a kid all the way through high school.  I always wore a blue batting glove on my glove hand when I pitched.  When told I couldn’t wear it by an umpire during a game because the color could potentially distract hitters (what a steaming pile btw), I resorted to putting black electrical tape over visible areas before the next game.

As far as the Celtics go, I’ve gotten better over the years.  I still maintain that our comeback victory in game 4 of the 2008 finals is because I was not supposed to be watching that game and I turned it off while periodically checking in.

Other weird things.  If we’re playing well I won’t shift sitting positions.  I’ll only get up during commercial breaks and need to be back sitting where I was before the game comes back on.

We always play bad when I watch games in our bedroom.  Stupid crap like that

I hope some can understand now why I was so angry when that thread about us vs Golden Sate was started

All of this by the way is comedy to my wife with a degree in psychology

I was actually OK with the ECF MVP thread only bc Heat players were included in the poll haha

Nah, I don’t influence the outcome. I don’t see how I could, unless I was in the building playing, coaching, or reffing.

Nope, it’s bad luck to be superstitious.

I am about certain things.

I hate when anyone, especially announcers, say game is over before it is.

When they give a positive stat, just as someone goes to the free throw line.

I was heading out of town and bought a new shirt to watch game 7 in Milwaukee in and so I am wearing it again today.

Yeah, I guess I am

No. Not even a little. Never and still don't go in for the wearing the same socks or eating the same meal or not touching the white line when entering the field of play or saying the wrong thing or praying before a game. None of it.
