We held their starters to 19% shooting through three quarters.  We built a 30 point lead.

Our shooting wasn’t great, but our defense was phenomenal.

Whilst I'm 100% on board with the fact that we're amazing on D, possibly best in the league, I do think that statistically, we won't be able to keep that number close to that ballpark for 2 more games.
Probably, but we were also missing lots of shots we usually hit.

You seem really keen on discrediting our insane defensive effort

Basically saying this in a separate topic because I don't wanna pollute other topics but this looks very much like they're letting us play, but the Heat not so much, compared to other games.

Having said that - we *are* great on defense. And Rob helps with that HEAPS. He makes us so much bigger.

Heck, even on offense he's a huge differencemaker because he turns us into a crazy tall team, adds heaps of spacing and gets us easy lobs/offensive-rebounds.

I definitely see positives, and yeah, our defense is great - I just also see detractors.
I have to disagree. I think the refs wanted to let em play, but the Heat came out TOO aggressive. Like, "let em play" and "no blood, no foul" are two separate levels and the refs and Cs were at one level and the Heat kept crossing the line to the next level. I'll never defend Foster, but it must be weird letting them play rough while trying to tell one of the teams they need to reign it in a bit.

Blocks like this, have a lotta contact before the block. That's the kinda thing they would call fouls in the past few games imo

The thing is Boston didn't even shoot that well tonight and still led by 25-30 for a good chunk of the game, including the 2nd half despite all the shots MIA started to make.

Timelord made a huge difference and I also think the turnovers and rebounding stats today confirm how good the C's were. Maybe it's not sustainable but it doesn't have to be. As long as those numbers aren't atrocious like how Game 3 was, we should have this in the bag

I don't think that is particularly fair. We've blown them out twice and lost G3 because we turned it over more than 20 times. We are clearly superior if we just play steady

I don't think the tinfoil hat is particularly fair because I've pointed out some fairly legit concerns.

Also, I'm not saying "WE'RE DOOMED" or "WE'RE WORSE THAN THE HEAT".

But I don't take it personally; I just respond in kind :)

I wear the tinfoil hat and green goggles. I want to be covered!

You're like me after every game (except I am less analytical)

Yeah look, I feel like pointing out the "why" really helps here

We won easily, but a combination of factors contributed to it - sort of like a perfect storm

And I doubt that perfect storm will happen again

Also, unmentioned, but I feel like games are reffed super differently from game to game, which benefited us this time 'round

.edit: EXAMPLE - https://streamable.com/eq4p9i

Plays like this, I feel, were fouls last game. Due to contact before the block

I haven't been able to follow this series closely, but feels like neither coach has "solved" the other one. Miami should have the same concerns as us I guess (maybe I'm wrong)?

I'm not saying every call was right, but I think both teams got hosed on some calls. But I think Miami was playing football out there and the Cs were just playing tough basketball.

HEAPS of personnel changes this series, and I honestly believe that's the biggest story here. So many injuries to vital players.

I genuinely feel Rob's top 3, maybe our second most important player. Heck, on defense, might be the most important in putting us over the top. Not due to his individual defense (Marcus better at that) but because due to Rob's position and skillset, he allows EVERYONE ELSE to cheat more on defense.

That's what's huge about Rob. He increases the amount of chances our players get to go for steals or otherwise disrupt offenses.

So coming back 'round; I feel that the Celtics best lineup EASILY wipes the floor with the Heat. It's just that we've been missing 2 top 3 players here and there for that to happen.

No offensive efficiency and we dominated due to our D. Find our offense, and all will be more than OK!

Both teams are banged up though, no doubting that. I wish there was a 3 day break for us to heal a bit too but both teams need rest but only one had intensity tonight.

We did this tonight without Smart too..incredible!

We cut down on turnovers. Rob mucked up their offense and really made them settle for contested shots.

JT for the most part played smart. Brown sucked.

You have some good points of concern, but each game is it's own entity.

Rob said he wasn't pulled due to injury but due to precaution.  Said he feels good.

We'll see if that holds up. If he's able to play, the heat have 0 chance as long as they don't resort to idiot ball.
Back to wanting Joe fired.
