At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Every time I’m ready to get on the Tatum superstar wagon he has games similar to tonight. Not bad but just doesn’t do enough to make you have to worry about him. I’m sorry but he’s gotta score more in Milwaukee if the C’s are going to win this series.

29 points with 8asits and 3 steals. STAR!!!

I’m keeping my faith on DW. I still think he comes up big sometime this series.

Smart should be ready.
Let’s hope so, anything other than White.

White plus 22...
I would have been +22 if I was on the court to start the game too.  White makes a compelling case of that stat not having a lot of value.  A guy that scores 0 in 28 minutes was in no way an asset on the floor.

4 rb 5 asts and a steal...

Happy for the win but that 2nd half overall wasn't that encouraging. We're going to need a better, more complete effort on the road otherwise we could be in trouble. It'd be nice but I highly doubt the C's will shoot as lights out as they did in today's 1st half lol

Well the C's are in trouble. Lost one of 2 at home and gave up HCA to the defending champs.  JB looked bothered by the hamstring. Marcus out but hopefully back. Rob not quite himself yet.  Whouda thunk this -- thank goodness for Grant Williams.

But I agree, C's are not a team that can beat the Bucks relying on the 3.  Bucks know it so that's the where the series is heading.  Can Bucks keep giving the C's looks from 3 and nothing in the paint --  and can the C's make their shots?  I vote Bucks if that's how it plays out.

If the C’s don’t figure out ways to attack the rim and get easy shots it is going to be a struggle.  This already feels like a 7 game series.  We need to buckle up as C’s fans.  I think we can get 1 in Milwaukee but I don’t see us getting 2.

Honestly with white as long as we win I can't bash him too much- The wide open 3s do hurt my heart but hes such a smart basketball player.

So Grant seems to be a reasonably good solution..

All of the debate about paint/3 ball is moot of Giannis is kept quiet.

I still remember us losing 4 straight after blowing out Milwaukee in game one, was it 2 years ago? Anything is possible, but boy would it be nice to pull the same thing on them this time around.

He outscored Giannis on far fewer shots...

Cant say enough about GWill. Dude was a stud on both ends tonight. Gonna need that going forward.  Also glad to see Ime scrapped the double Giannis and leave everyone else wide open game plan. Was pretty obvious that wouldnt work and i couldnt believe they stuck with it through the whole game 1

GWill.was definitely an asset tonight. He is.an important member of.the rotation because of his defence and his.ability to shoot the 3. The latter is probably why he sees more minutes than Theis.

All-star numbers sure. The best Celtic tonight was Horford.

I think you can make an argument for any of Tatum, Brown, Horford or Grant.

Yeah not really getting the White hate for a playoff game we won by 23.

After a convincing 23 point win in the playoffs, I don't understand the amount of complaints about Derrick White.

Complaints about the refs, Giannis's superstar calls, the amount of replays that killed momentum, the league allowing games being reffed like this. After this win, I could see complaints regarding these things. But to focus so much on White's play, I don't get that.
what's difficult to understand?  0 points in 28 minutes and crappy defense.  pretty much screams out for complaints.  felt we overpaid in that trade and his playoff performance this year has me convinced we grossly overpaid.  used to say he wasn't a scrub, just not worth what we paid.  now, he's looking scrubby
I guess my issue is that after an inspired bounce back answer to the C's game 1 stinker, I find it strange the FOCUS of fans would be on the poor play of one Celtic player. There is so much good stuff to talk about and the FOCUS is on criticizing the Celtics.

And I don't even think the complaints are fair. White just shot poorly. He had 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, was a great secondary ball mover and played great defense. Without the DPOY, with White starting, the Celtics team defense gave up only 86 points giving up 46.6% FG% and 16.5% 3PT%. White was, like most every other Celtic, playing great defense.
