It was a small part of the game, but that period in the early 4th where Pritchard was just jacking up 3s early in the clock and missing them were brutal and basically iced it for MIL. Attempted 4 3s, missed all of them but also I think on two of them the Bucks went on the fast break that led to two 3s. Wasn't just that he missed but MIL scored quickly on some of them after.
A classic example of shooting your team out of a game. You can shoot your team back into a game - and the opposite.

At the end of the season, were the Bucks trying to avoid the Nets or were they just not afraid of Boston? It took just game 1 for Milwaukee to get home court advantage.

To blame the refs for any part if this loss is ridiculous. The Celtics showed up like they just won the title and this was an exhibition so everyone can see the Celtics again.

Anything can happen in game 1.  Unfortunately the C's did nothing right this game, including pregame planning from our coaching staff.

I picked the C's to win in 7 and I'm sticking with it.  The C's played terribly the entire game (yes, even when we had the early 8 point lead we did not look good) and yet at some points we had the game close.  Not sure about the health of Smart and Brown moving forward though.

They have a week to get ready. Double Giannis is not going to work with the shooting around him. I said WAY before the game started that you have to play him straight up.

Brown has played horribly but has any one really besides Horford made a really positive impact? Grant and Timelord were just okay I would say. The whole team has to play better to win the next one.

Brown isn't the only one that completely wiffed in this game.  But Jaylen just hasn't been moving very well, looked tentative.  If the hammy is bad, then he shouldn't be playing.

He did look tentative but I see that as being due to the Bucks defense more than his hammy. He seemed explosive enough for that put back dunk. It’s going to be tough but I think they will have to find a way to get Tatum and Brown some easy ones going to the hoop early in the game to then allow them to get into the flow of the game before they start jacking up 3s. Not sure how feasible that will be against this defense though. Let’s see what adjustments can be made.

I only felt like one of those was forced because it was early in the shot clock, but it was so wide open. Honestly, we should want Pritchard taking wide open 3s. One was when the shot clock was about to go off and the others were in rhythm.

It certainly wasn't a good stretch for the Cs, as evidenced by Pritchard's +/-, but if he knocks a couple of those down and the Cs actually get a couple of stops, then we might be singing a different tune right now.

Ye... The Nets were trash defense, the Bucks are a crazy good defensively and Giannis asserting his dominance every game is gonna be very demoralizing.

I think the Celtics are in big trouble If they don't get hot from 3 because the Bucks load the paint and kind of force you to take 3s.

What was I saying about the need for more shooters and more size in the "what else do we need" thread ?

My suggestions were harshly criticized. Our roster is still not strong enough to win titles.
Still a few pieces away, but we are much closer than we were.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

That and White missing layups and turning the ball over twice when he came in early.

That was such an awful stretch. He played what the final 5-6 mins of the 1st and missed 2 layups, had multiple bad passes, and looked lost on defense. Just watched the 8 point lead disappear
everyone got so sensitive after 9-11... thanks alot bin laden

Holiday just killed us today as well.  Not only the 25 points 10 rebounds, but his def really disrupted our flow on offense up top, smart, tatum, brown, white all really got manhandled by him at various points when he was disrupting our offense.  We need to be smarter with the ball, and need guys moving without the ball to be a release valve for that pressure.

Agreed, PP has to make those shots.

Only 10 made two point shots all game. Good grief. Credit to the Bucks - we fell right into their trap. Ime has to figure out how to get us easier looks inside the three point line. We're not built to win a shootout.

I'll have to look at it again, but like 2 of the 3s looked like LONG 3s. Not just behind the line, but a good 2-3 steps behind the line. Again maybe I'm imagining it but they looked like long 3s.

If I’m looking for positives, our defense mostly did okay.  Holding them to 101 is fine.

We have to do much, much better at the other end though.  Nobody played well offensively.  The health of Smart and Jaylen concerns me going forward… we need them.

Go C’s.

And so many easy points came off of really poor TOs and our atrocious shooting (how does a team shoot 33% for the game?). If we can shoot slightly better next game, then we may have a chance.

Good find. That can’t be the case.
