Barkley: "One of the worst officiated games I've ever seen."

Agreed.
Celtics fan for life.

And some people wanted us to tank at the end of the regular season to avoid Brooklyn.  This is not the same fearsome Brooklyn team as last year, as we just witnessed.

Harden loss was huge. They replaced him with a good shooter and a superstar who resembles the invisible man.

Hopefully we see more Rob going forward. Glad Barkley is calling out the refs too.

What did Charles say?

So great that Rob got the 2 games in.

And where was Bruce Brown tonight? Almost invisible.

Barkley said Tatum’s fifth and sixth fouls were ridiculous. Some of the worst officiating he’s seen.

Tatum well spoken young man.

He said all the right things and nailed a few loaded questions.

I lay $20 Kyrie will be all philosophical in his post-game - he will talk about his love for everyone and a bunch of other gobbly-de-gook from his wacko psyche. What a blessing it is that he left the Celtics. His drama is a big reason for the Nets failure.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

So glad to see the poise / effort / and finishing of JB/Smart / Al once Tatum fouled out.
The whole momentum was with the Nets.  Those 3 pushed back and made plays and won the game.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Why did Ime not put Rob Williams in during 4th quarter ? Was there a physical problem with his knee ?

I can't imagine. Still easing him in, I guess. Grant was doing a great job out there and Ime has all the trust in the world in Al. Happy to see us finish out the series essentially without the should-be runner-up for DPOY. Nets fans and media really can't complain about not having Simmons when we were mostly without Rob.

So the question (other than how good are the Celtics) is how good are the Nets?   Did the C's beat the team most people thought they were, or were the Nets not really what people thought they were.

Impressive!

I'd be worried about a team built around Durant and Kyrie if they had more talent around them ... but they don't.

That is a terrible Nets team three through ten.

Those two stars simply do not have enough help to be dangerous in the playoffs.

I tend to agree. It can be difficult to take off the green colored glasses at times, but speaking as objectively as I can, this Celtics defense is spectacular, one of the best NBA defenses we've seen in the last 10 years. I think if the Celtics remain healthy, as is, I'm predicting a sweep, and I think each game will be won in fairly convincing fashion.

Im wrong often too, but I called it pretty good here. People told me I was insane 😉

Claxton was 1-11 from the line. Would have been the difference if he had made even 60% of them.

Or maybe we just defeated the 2nd best team in the league

Well, I was dead wrong about this series and about this team.
Celtics proved a lot of the hype around them isn’t fake and they proved something to me by taking care of the nets in a sweep, let’s keep it going

Oh man, got some crow to eat after your pre-series predictions man haha Might as well call you a Man of the Night's Watch with all that crow!  ;D

Rob was out of synch most of the night, committing bad fouls and bobbling the ball. I think we also needed some more perimeter shooting down the stretch. Big Al hit some huge threes.

Did JB just say he had a hamstring problem?

I love -- no celebration -- on to the next series.  That's a player who wants to get to the next level.
