The tendency this year IMO has been better basketball ,  no more Hardens stupid form of basketball and seemingly allowed a little  more contact though-out most games.  Still to picky in my opinion. I grew  up watching 80-90 s men’s basketball

If the refs continue to allow defense to play tight ,  it might be more than Nets can handle .

But if the refs start with the Lebron protection type system again of the Whiner and Kdee ,  then the the defensive advantage goes out the window .

Basically the refs control the series . The more physical team will win if refs allow it.

The Nets have to win 4 of the next 5 games, and Rob is coming back soon.

I don’t say the series is over, but would you rather be us or them right now?

Yeah we still need to take at least 1 on the road. I think of the 2018 ECF when they went up 2-0 and things looked good, but then they never won any road game and lost a close Game 7 sadly

On the bright side, Ime has really emphasized not allowing our players to complain, and by extension not allowing them to be affected by reffing (it seems).

During this insane 2022 run I don't remember a single game where we lost and the refs were the headline (though we were probably playing fewer superstars given a slightly easier stretch).

Last game KD got 20 free throws last game as someone else noted, in response to similar concerns I raised elsewhere as op.

Tatum has also not had one of his patented can't stop me now games and I have an inkling a big 50 plus point performance is going to happen in one of the next 2 games. We too, have yet to play a full 4 quarters yet.

Simmons will not see the light of day in the fourth and if he does, Drummond, him and Clankston are three of the worst FT shooting players around. Simmons last game was over a year ago in a choke scenario where he was deer in the headlights. He cannot shoot and somehow that is not going to improve by not playing for a full year.

I like our chances a lot.

All we did was take a 2 game lead that gives us a 90% chance to take the series. The Nets have nothing more than the legacy of their 2 stars that's making people nervous, not what or how they are currently playing.

Sure anything could happen, but our odd of winning the series is 1/10 less than the chances the sun will rise tomorrow. We're in good shape.
2 close games and Durant has yet to really show up.  That is why there is reason for concern.

True.

At the same time, I don't think the Celtics have played a great 48 minute game yet either.
This is what's been going on in my head. The Celtics are up but they've only played at home and Durant will have a game where he doesn't shoot crap.

But I also think the Celtics have not played up to their potential and jpotter's point about the team settling down a bit in Brooklyn, where there will still be plenty of Celtic fans.

I said Celtics in 5 before the series and I'm sticking with that but KD could be a sleeping giant.

All we did is make it so that Brooklyn has to beat us 4/5 games.

It might be just holding home court, but we've made it incredibly difficult for them. People go on about KD and Kyrie missing lots of shots, but so did our guys.

I was curious about this and the number appears to be 93% of teams that win the first two games win the series.  Honestly, that's even higher than I thought.

I totally forgot that the Bucks did it twice last season.  After losing their first two games they....

beat the Nets 4-3 in the Eastern Conf. Semis
then
beat the Suns 4-2 in the Finals.

It can be done, but I don't think we will see it this series against the Nets.  Go Cs!

I mean, much of that was injuries, though. Bucks probably aren't world champs if they don't get lucky with the injuries in those series.

they were only down to the Suns because Giannis was injured in the prior series. I have a hard time calling a team that lost a starter in the 1st round for the rest of the playoffs and then lost the best player in the world for 2 games in the conference finals, lucky with injuries.
