ESPN Sources: The Nets and Ben Simmons expected he would be ready to play on Monday, but after getting on the court yesterday Simmons says he awoke with back soreness today. In the end, the team and Simmons agreed he'll remain out for Game 4.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I'm shocked.

In total disbelief.

Absolutely stupefied.

Nets are listing Ben Simmons as OUT for Game 4 vs. Celtics. A surprise as Simmons had been expected to play Monday as long as rehab was on course.

Hilarious comedy of errors
KD and Kyrie wish they could figure out a way to be OUT.
Would be painfully funny if Kyrie missed game 4 for one of his many at-the-ready excuses for sitting games. Not sure my sides would cope

I was half expecting the Nets injury report to list them both on there:

Kyrie Irving: bruised ego, Questionable
Kevin Durant: injured self confidence: Questionable
Getting swept is bad but you can be sure that Kyrie does not want to come to Boston for game 5.

Simmons is trying out for the Scarecrow in the up coming remake of the Wizard of Oz.

Oh, my back hurts….Bet they try and dump him in offseason.

His value would have to be next to zero now, right. No way he can draw in a Harden-esque package, even if they accompany him with all their good role players.

I'd be more tempted to move on from Kyrie. You could build a better group around Durant/Simmons than you can around Durant/Irving.

I mean...imagine if they could ship Kyrie off to, say, Indiana, for a package that included Turner and Brogdon? That'd be a scary team.

But it'll never happen.

No popcorn needed. Kyrie would retire immediately.

Does Kyrie have much value? You joke about him immediately retiring upon being traded to Indiana, but I don't think that's actually too unlikely

If Kyrie would accept a trade without a conniption, he absolutely has that value. Because there's always teams that long for a star, and he's an automatic draw for national TV games.

But you're right - the joke about him retiring wasn't really a joke. I'm pretty sure his agent said this past offseason that if Brooklyn traded him, he'd retire. Whether that would remain true or not is anybody's guess. You can never tell with that guy.

So unpredictable. Although, if he retired that would make for a pretty neat expiring contract target!

Embiid also played through a meniscus tear last year in the playoffs.
