Shocker

Yeah, the biggest shocker of the series, Ben Simmons doesn’t show up.  How many of us said last summer that Simmons wasn’t worth it?  Couldn’t handle some criticism from Doc Rivers and bailed out on the sixers, sat out the whole season and is in litigation to get part of his salary back for which he played 0 games.  Have fun with Simmons next year Nets.

100% did NOT want that dude on our team for the simple reason that his work ethic is non-existent and it'd throw team chemistry into disarray.

...

I briefly considered making a topic about all the stuff I've been right about this season. lol

This story goes back to Simmons’s LSU days. Remember, he was the best player in college basketball and the consensus #1 pick, but his team missed the NCAA tournament. That should have been a major red flag from the beginning.

From a predraft article 6 years ago:

"The concerns about Simmons’ character didn’t magically appear the moment he arrived on campus in Baton Rouge. Those sentiments also have been expressed by members of the Australian national team who have spent time with him at the junior and senior levels. Australian players and coaches who have been around him don’t speak about him in flattering terms, calling him “the Yank” to highlight how different he is compared with most of the players from that country, and perhaps highlight how much moving to the United States at a young age and immersing himself in the AAU world has shaped him.

Those who know him best say he needs things to revolve around him on and off the court and that he's often been close-minded to coaching or instruction. Can all this be blamed on LSU? Check out the “mentality” section of Simmons’ “weaknesses” breakdown."

I don't need Tommy Points but I wanted him. Not at the expense of JB though mind you.

But him as a third banana behind JB and JT honestly isn't bad still in theory. Jury still out on how his mental health is currently though... (I mean if I were in his position I'd probably duck out of this series too with the way it's going...)

Edit: but crazy to think I'd probably want to keep TimeLord over Ben Simmons at this point.

That’s a tommy point for you and also just to be clear all your takes were reasonable. The people building up his 4 on 4 work acting like he was in the Olympics should be embarrassed.

What a clown this guy is honestly. So convenient to say that he might now be back for a Game 5 that might not even happen. Channel some Willis Reed and give the crowd something to cheer for by getting on the court for a few minutes at least Ben!

I guess he's happy to be head cheerleader, that still brings in the Benjamins for Benjamin after all.

When you think about the fact that someone like Brook Lopez won a championship, started the new season, actually had to get back surgery and miss 5 months, and then returned to the starting lineup and play in the playoffs - all since Simmons last played, it really tells you something.  :o

Yup. There's also guys like Embiid and Barnes playing through injury, or Timelord hustling back to get on the court.

I don't think we'll see Lowry, Booker or Middleton miss any more time than absolutely, 100% necessary. And then there's Ben
