I love this guy.  He's a model teammate, world-class defender, burgeoning trey bomber, excellent finisher, very good ball handler & distributor, and boatloads of fun to watch.

If you haven't read it, check out this article about his defensive impact:

Let's get him in Green.

Good memory. He was one of my absolute favourites, and I really wanted us to go after him in the 2nd round. Still think he'd be a perfect bench piece here.

Good eye for talent.  I didn't know of him until I scooped him up from the wire in our H2H league, and he's been awesome to watch.  Let's write to Brad with our argument to trade for Herb and at least 100 fan signatures.

Plenty of people were interested in Herb as a 2nd round pick.  With his elite defense, he had a high floor.  Just a matter of how much he'd be able to contribute offensively.  Absolutely no reason for NOP to trade him.

The best player in the NBA is clearly Russell Westbrook. He's paid 44M a year for a reason. 8)

Evidently.

Remember he was hired by the BEST GM in the league  “  LeBron “.

Speaking of Herb;

I dislike CP3, but that ref should consider a career as a certain flavour of lollipop.

I swear the reffing in this league.

Herb is nice, but he isn't even the best rookie defender. I would argue Mobley had the highest defensive impact by a rookie since Tim Duncan. At some point he was ranking 3rd in the entire league in defensive EPM behind only Draymond and the Glove II. He ended up in the 19th place alongside Timelord, Horford and AD, which ranks in the 96th percentile. How Mobley didn't win ROY is beyond me.

Btw, here are the top 3 rookies in defensive EPM:
1. Evan Mobley: +2.3
2. Jalen Suggs: +2.2 (but -3.6 in offensive EPM, hence he's a net negative)
3. Herb Jones: +1.9

I haven't heard of EPM but I see that it's well-regarded relative to other defensive metrics.  How is it calculated? Individual defense has always been tough to measure.  Mobley is no doubt really good already, but CLE's team defense is also good.

I think Herb's also more versatile - he can already guard 1-5, he's great on and off the ball, and he makes smart plays.

Herb also wanted to give some of the other rookies a chance at ROTY. He's very kind that way
