Very tense half -- gave up 61 points despite playing some energized defense and forcing KD to shoot 2-10 with 4 TOs.

Lots of fouls but thankfully distributed -- only Theis with 3.

It's a funny game where the eye test shows that our defense has been suffocating at times and has forced 12 Nets turnovers, but of the shots Brooklyn did have they shot 54% overall and 45% from 3. We just have to keep playing the right way, keep up the pressure, stop fouling (Nets were 16-17 from the line) and I think our defensive dominance will begin to be reflected on the scoreboard in the 2nd half

Admit White should have taken the layup.  However, he does have 3reb,3assist,3steals and 0 turnovers.

That was equivalent to a turnover

They're getting nothing from Durant - not even playmaking - and we're failing to capitalize.

True. However, that's part of the gameplan it appears. Looks like we've decided that we're going to make the others beat us.

We've done a hell of a job on KD thus far. Everything for him is difficult, and they're all pull-up midrange jumpers.

Seeing White pass up that layup, I feel like Adam Sandler in anger management hearing Iverson missed a buzzer beater

“You gotta dunk that ####!”, White, come on!
That should be called Pulling a Simmons.

It's not just passing up the layup, it's compounded by that fact that it immediately led to a 3 point play on the other end. That's a 5-point swing we can't afford in a game this close.

The def effort has been great, but we gotta play smarter and play d without fouling.  A few stops at the end of the half could have ended up as a 10 point lead instead of tied.  Too many fts for them.

5 missed foul shots hurts.
Plus a couple of layups and a bunch of other open jumpers. Ah well

It was a bad no-take, speaks to being intimidated when he got blocked trying to force a layup earlier.  But Silas is right -- was going to write the same thing.  JW had a better half than one would think reading comments here.

I don't know if that's a good game plan. Durant is the type of play that can go nuclear in seconds. The last thing we should want is KD to suddenly get on a streak while his teammates are in rhythm and confident.

Yeah, feel like they just hit some tough shots. The other thing is they're not missing free throws like us. They're 16-17.

Is it just me, or does White get blocked more than anyone else on the Celtics?
