Warriors: Golbert, Jazz 1st round pick

Jazz: Wiggins, Wiseman

—————————

Golbert
Green
Kuminga
Thompson
Curry

Poole, Moody, Looney

—————————

I actually think this is a great trade for both teams.

Golden State Warriors need a win now move and Wiseman is definitely not on their timeline. Most centres mature later in their careers and Wiseman is especially raw. Golbert next to Green would be an all-time great defensive front court. Cost is obviously no issue to the Warriors ownership and this actually saves them 5 million in the short term.

The Jazz look like they may completely rebuild or at least retool their core. Wiseman has the talent to be a two way star but just needs the reps without the pressure.
5' 10" former point guard

Career highlight: 1973-74 championship, Boston Celtics

Career lowlight: traded for a washing machine

I don’t think you can play draymond and gobert together much offensively. How many teams play two bigs that you can sag 8 feet off on the perimeter

The Warriors have mostly done this for years. First with Bogut. Then with players like McGee. Then with Looney.

They use their non-shooters to stretch the floor by doing DHOs. Opposing bigs have to stay up to help on DHOs with Curry, Thompson, and Poole.

Plus, i would argue Green is one of the best role players in the NBA and fits with most player types.

This trade makes a lot of sense to me. I don't think the Jazz would need to give up anything though. In fact, I think the Jazz would want to dump a contract to do this trade.

The Warriors won 53 games this year with Curry playing 64, Green playing 46, and Thompson playing 32.

The clock is ticking for them but I don't think they're in a hurry to shake things up.

And who knows, maybe Wiseman gets healthy and becomes a contributor next year. Then moving him for someone who doesn't really fit their style looks even less necessary.

Wiseman keeps getting hurt so I think it's worth it for Warriors. Jazz not so much.
