I hear Milwaukee's a pretty nice city. Gets cold in the winters. Has some stars as well (Rodgers, Giannis, etc.)

It's a fun town.  Area around the arena is nice.  Great lakefront.

It's a mini-Chicago.

Milwaukee has certainly had its share of visitors.  The French missionaries and explorers were coming here as early as the late 1600's to trade with the Native Americans.

It's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."

Very nice area, I vacationed in Wisconsin several times in the summer and fall when I lived in Chicago for 6 years. Door Penisula, which juts into the Great Lakes reminded me of New England.

The most interesting aspect is it's the only major American city to ever elect three socialist mayors.

Ah man. I got excited for a second thinking you were making a reference to the tv show Archer with this bolded part. In the show Archer claims that “lacrosse” is “Algonquin for blood sport.”

Turns out you were being literal haha

Milwaukee the past few years has been 'how to build around a superstar 101.' It's what the Cavs wanted to do with LeBron on his first go round but failed at.

5-7 seed without Giannis .

1-2 seed with 100 % healthy GA ,  it’s totally his team .  They need his 40-10 to beat top 5 teams in a series,   same as KD and his Nets .

Highly overrated team. They won a championship last year because they were fortunate with injuries, and virtually everyone else they played was not. They wouldn't have got past BKN if Kyrie hadn't got hurt, and won the series by the slimmest of margins at that. They were likely going down to ATL if Trae Young didn't get hurt.

If Middleton and Holiday were the players most credit them with being, this team is easily putting up 60+ wins.

Teams can't just turn it on and off. If you look at how their team actually played vs. how they played last year, they're running on reputation, or fumes. They were a middle of the pack playoff team if you watch them, the only thing that stands out is Freak's brilliance. IMO, this team has little chance to get past the Nets/Celtics winner. If Giannis doesn't carry them on his back, they have no chance.

have to admit I was getting excited someone was starting a thread on the Brewers but a thread about the Bucks is a bit of a let down.   :(

I'd favor them for the title if not for the Celtics. I absolutely think they can beat the Suns again or the Mavs, which are the two teams I see as most likely to come out of the west.

It's unfortunate for them that they'll have to face Boston in the second round.

We are clearly the superior team if Rob Williams is healthy.  Without him, I give the edge to the Bucks.

Ah yes because having the best player in the world go down with injury didn't happen to the Bucks.  Oh wait, you mean he missed the last 2 games of the ECF and was clearly still hobbled for the first couple of games of the Finals.  Hmmm.  That is weird.  I also seem to recall them having a starter get hurt in the 3rd game of the 1st round and never playing another minute in the playoffs.  I guess I just imagined that as well.

Their top 3 guys all played in the mid-60's.  Lopez missed most of the season.  Portis led the team with 72 games played (Giannis and Jrue at 67 were next).  The Bucks cruised through the season because they didn't care about it.  That happens to a lot of teams.  When they cared like back-to-back games at Philly and at Brooklyn, they turned it on and beat both of them.

The Bucks are pretty clearly the best team in the world.  They have the best player in the world.  They have 2 all star caliber players next to him.  They have a lot of depth.   Very solid starting lineup with Lopez, Giannis, Middleton, Allen, Holiday coupled with a really good bench in Ibaka, Portis, Nwora, Matthews, Connaughton, and Hill.  9 of those 11 started at least 13 games with only Lopez (11 of 13 games) and Ibaka (2 starts) not.  All of the injuries and different lineups made them better prepared for the playoffs.  They should be the heavy favorites to repeat and I absolutely expect them to.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

The Bucks are the only team in the East in where if the Celtics lose to them, I will not feel like they underachieved in the playoffs.

Pretty much my feeling too.  I feel like whoever wins that series will win the East if not the title also although PHX would be one heckuva challenge.

The Bucks were just a few shoe inches shy from losing to KD last year.

I think we can take them on in a 7 game series if we have Timelord.
