Something that just hit me. Should we be worried the league will give us Tony Brothers and/or Scott Foster for either (or possibly both) of the next two games??  :(

Every time I hear the name Tony Brothers, all I can think about is Danny Davis:

Sorry Phantom, before your time. ;)

Mike

The NBA doesn't do itself any favors by waiting until the last minute to announce the officiating crew. No other reason I can think of other than for betting purposes. Love the game but I'll never be convinced the league doesn't do what it can to help get a desired outcome.
Really makes you wonder if the league realizes how close this game is to falling apart. 90% of fouls called get incredulous complaints from the alleged perpetrator.  I refuse to believe that a big chunk of those complaints aren’t legit.  A ref-driven league will die.

BOS-BKN Game 4 is 7 PM EST, but does anyone know when they'll announce start times for Games 5-7?

Believe tv times are also tied to what other series are doing.

Yep.  Like if the Sixers close out the Raptors today that may adjust the start times and even the days (in some cases) that other series will go.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

It also is based on arena availability for teams that share arenas with other teams. For instance, the Bruins are in the Garden next Tuesday and Thursday.

Quick word about uptick in Marcus Smart’s three attempts.  In the first 3 games Smart was 1st, tied for first, and second, respectively, in number of three attempts.  In game 3 he shot 10 times from 3 second only to Tatum’s 13 while no other Celtic shot more than 4. His 3pt % in these games - 44%, 17%, and 20%.  Overall 7-25 or 28%.

Obviously this hasn’t cost the Celtics a victory and without his good shooting in game 1 they would have lost.  But, increased attempts is a trend for Smart over the last weeks of the season and into the playoffs.  He is still passing up threes late  (as he deferred to Tatum in the 4th yesterday) but it concerns me if his mindset is shifting from distributor to shooter. Hope not as he’s been terrific and is a legit force on this team.  I just still cringe when he hoists them up (usually- sometimes they are wise shots) and I think he should be back down to 3-5 attempts a game.

While I agree with you, that I’d like to see him take less 3’s, he really didn’t take any bad ones. The Nets were giving him the shot, so he has to take it.
Obviously be better if he could hit them.

Days won’t be adjusted for any currently scheduled series.  Game 1 for around 2 is sometimes adjusted if enough series go finish early, so that they can start round 2 on the weekend.

If the Nets are daring him to beat them from 3, like we are with Bruce Brown, then Marcus has got to take those.
But I'm wondering if it also doesn't have to do with Marcus not having his pick and roll lob partner Timelord? As Rob is reaclimated and the opponent changes, I think we'll see a change in Smart's three point attempts.

I know JT gets most of the attention, but can we talk about how good JB has been in this series? He’s been excellent at getting to the rim and some of his individual moves are just incredible.

Yes. Marcus has played great. There isn’t a single number of three-point attempts he should not surpass. Some games there will be more good looks some games there will be less. For the most part Marcus has been taking good shots.

22.7 PPG
4.3 RPG
4.7APG
50.9% FG%
77% FT%
28.6% 3PT%

He is playing amazing defense except for a few plays over the 3 games where he missed a switch. His 3 point shooting hasn't been good but he isn't taking a lot of those shots.

But, he has been pretty awesome in the fourth quarters the last couple games that essentially helped catapult Boston to wins in both games. He has been a bit hot and cold scoring per half but his final numbers have been very consistent.

What I love is that Jaylen seems to be making the right and good pass consistently and has been averaging almost 5 assists per game. Combined with Jayson's 30 PPG and 8 APG that means the Jays are making or creating at least 79 points a game. That's incredible when you consider the energy each expends on the defensive end playing All-Defense quality defense.

I normally don't just assume sweep since even when up 3-0 in a series with HCA, you expect the opponent at home to put up a real fight and put up a spirited effort.

But I don't see that coming. I think Boston has a sweep in the bag here.

Just look at the postgame pressers, KD + Kyrie look checked out. Kyrie looked checked out already after Game 2. Also, it's not like the Nets are having terrible nights or getting super unlucky, they've actually played well and the role players are also playing well. You could see them actually try on defense too. Problem is, they still look outmatched against the younger, more physical C's. The Nets have also started games fast with Bruce Brown and had great 1st halves. Hasn't mattered though.

Kyrie went off one game. KD got 20 FT attempts another night where the refs were helping BKN. Still down 3-0. Wouldn't surprise me if Kyrie decided to go YOLO and shoot like he did in the 2019 playoff series against Milwaukee when he decided to quit. Do the Nets really want to make another trip back up to Boston lol. Does Kyrie?

Pretty big turnaround for you Phantom. From actively advocating for tanking to avoid the Nets, to predicting a Celtic loss in this series to now predicting a Celtic sweep. Do you believe in this team and them winning the title now? 😉☘️😁☘️😂☘️
