TP FLCeltsFan!

But go Bucks.

Rest everyone the next two games and tank for the #3 (or 4) seed. Don’t want BKN 1st round and it seems super likely now that they’ll nab the 7 seed (ugh Knicks…)

Screw that, that’s a loser’s mentality. The Nets can barely beat the Knicks without their best player and we’re supposed to give up home court in the second round just to avoid them? They haven’t come close to inspiring enough fear to tank with how they’ve performed.

Go Celtics! Let’s win the next two games and enter the playoffs hot.

I’m with you. Personally I Think if it’s the Nets in the first round, it would be a fun matchup to watch. Also, the Celtics get to knock Irving and crew out of the playoffs.
I’d also add, that I’m not sold on Miami making it to ECF, so perhaps Celtics get HCA for entire playoffs, until finals anyway.
If you want to be the best, you got to beat the best.
Oh yeah, if they tank and come in 3 or 4, maybe they get Toronto, and who knows who might not be able to play in away games?

According to Basketball-Reference ( https://www.basketball-reference.com/friv/playoff_prob.html ) BKN has a 31.2% chance of making it to the 7 seed.  That means they have a 68.8% of not being the 7 seed.  I have no idea how they figure these odds.

To me, the worst case scenario is to lose a couple of games "on purpose" only to have BKN not be the 7 seed.  CLE has the highest odds of being the 7 seed at 41.3% per this site.  Do you really want to fall to the 3 or 4 seed and then end up with TOR over CLE in the first round?  And then have to play MIL without HCA?  The point is that all this standings gaming could backfire as likely as it could benefit.

It is not a given that BNK is going to be the 7 seed.  It is true that if we are the 3 or 4 seed, that there is 0% chance we see BKN in the first round but I feel like people are equating the 2 seed with playing BKN first round, as if this is a given.

Horford and Tatum announced as OUT. Smart (probable) and Jaylen will likely play.

Well, assuming an L, what is the best case scenario here then? Dropping to 4 and playing TOR/MIA or 3 and getting CHI/MIL? I absolutely prefer CHI in the 1st round over TOR, but will not mind skipping out on MIL until the ECF. For all intents and purposes, let's assume all of our guys can play in Toronto.

Well they'd drop to fourth, for now. But they'd still have tie breakers over PHI and MIL(even with the loss today, they'd have a distant tiebreaker). So if the c's beat MEM and either PHI or MIL lose one of their remaining games the c's could move up to three. Or if then c's beat MEM and BOTH PHI and MIL lose one of their remaining games they could move back up to 2.

As for what the best case opponent wise is? I have no idea, I guess it would be whatever avoids MIL longest.  But all of MIA, PHI and MIl are tough so ??????

Does rest for Tatum/Al mean that Nesmith starts tonight so that White/Pritchard can continue to come in off the bench? He’s been hot in the last couple of games, I’d love to see him get some good minutes tonight if he isn’t losing us the game out there.

I'm so confused tonight.  Do I root for a win or not.  Just play well and no one get injured.  Go Cs.
