To me, that's really encouraging. If Durant and Simmons are still out for the Nets game come the 24th, the earliest the team might really need Smart back is on 3/1 at home against Atlanta. That's about two weeks from now, so hopefully Marcus is back by then. That would mean he would only miss 4 games.

Yeah same, totally fine with this as the outcome. The fact that he wasn't outright "out" was already promising.
