Still in it. Would be nice though if Jaylen could wake up.

Would be nice if they weren’t a below average shooting the 3. Thts pretty much the difference in the game. Both teams shooting 38%. One team is 41% from 3, the other is 20%.

Grateful to be down 10.  Just feels like Boston missing everything in sight -- good looks.  2nd half might be a different story.

This is gonna sound really obvious, but our stars need to simply shoot better. Our offense can't function with them.

Remember, we’re the third most likely team to win the championship this year, both Smart and White are top-20 players, and the poor shooting is all in our heads.

Yes, because clearly even the best teams don't have poor quarters like this. Bit of an overreaction.

What overreaction?  What criticism did I give?

Those are all things that have been stated repeatedly on here the past 48 hours.

You literally implied that this bad first quarter is evidence that these things aren't true. That's like textbook overreaction lol

And I can't speak for every single post on the site, but you're largely misrepresenting what has been said about these things on the site, at least from what I've seen.

The claims about Smart and White being "top-20 players" and "third most likely to win the championship" are all based on advanced stats  (e.g. 538, RAPTOR, etc.) that are suggesting this, not people making this claim in general. Big difference there.

Can't really speak about the poor shooting, as I haven't personally seen any argument of people saying this. If they are, then that's clearly wrong I think, as we haven't been a good shooting team. Perhaps some have been arguing that the poor shooting is less of an issue given our defense? Again, not sure since I haven't seen people make this argument and can't really assess whether this is a true representation of those arguments.

All those statements are wrong, and all have been made by multiple people.  If somebody cites to 538 and says those projections are realistic or meaningful, then they’re adopting those arguments or citing them as authority.

We have a solid team, but folks are wildly hyperbolic about our chances.

Seeing a return to some selfish offense by Brown and Tatum in this one - especially problematic because they’re cold.  Get back to sharing the rock.

At the other end, it’s all Trae and Bogdanovic.  Young is really good and will do his thing, but I’m not interested in watching Bogdanovic shoot FTs.  Move your feet and play better defense.  Al, in particular, got killed in his minutes.

A couple minutes of good ball movement there toward the end. Celtics are 4-20 on 3's and almost all of them were good shots.

If Brown can have a second half where he doesn't look like a G-league player and the 3-point shooting can even out a little (just a little) then 10 points isn't too much to overcome.

I get that Trae Young is a highlight factory and he's 5/13 in the half. You wouldn't know he's shooting bad the way he's being talked about on this broadcast.

We're obvious playing a switch everything defense, so I don't understand why we keep playing Al at the 4 instead of going small.

Being led by G League versions of Jamal Crawford isn’t working today.

Think smart is trying to hard to be the pg.  Just play the game, ur not the man.

White is a better player than Smart offensively and overall. He should be the primary ballhandler.

Couldn’t stop laughing at his take. It would be funny as hell though if the Lakers traded AD after all they went through to get him. Got them a championship but man that team is old.
