I’m not sure what star will be available for the Cs to obtain with just Horford. Without added other players, picks, or prospects, find it unlikely that would be palatable to another team.

If PBS and Ime like this current year roster, think it is more likely they use the Horford contract and the Fournier TPE to get more depth pieces similar to White. Still have the Jays as focal point but continue to build the periphery with good middle of the road contract players that compliment the team. If something does come up down the road, you’ll have contracts to get that 3 rd star without gutting the entire roster of all talent.

If Beal requests a trade to the Cs, it puts a lot of pressure on the Wizards to oblige. We have the salary ballast to do so now, which was something that was tough the last few years.

I'm also eying the Suns carefully. If they miss the finals this year, there is no way the Suns owner pays as much luxury tax as they would need to do. They would need to move on from one of Paul, Ayton, or Bridges, as well as Crowder and/or Saric.

I’d rather trade Horford and picks for Collins and nix the Smart/Bogdanovic part of the deal.

The point of the deal from Atlanta's perspective would be to get Smart, and clear Bogs' contract.

Yeah, this would also be beneficial to Atlanta. Collins is definitely a very good player, but so is Smart. Horford will be an expiring contract, while Bogdanovic will have two years left on his contract, with a 15% trade kicker. I can't see a world where we add two 1sts in the deal, but Brad seemingly doesn't value picks very much, so who knows?

If we finish strong this season and get into or close to the conference finals, Smart stays. If not, could see Brad trading him.
