I expect we’ll see a couple of guys who’ve been in Maine this year be signed to 10-days for tonight’s game (and through the All-Star break). Likely Kornet and Arcidiacono, maybe Denzel Valentine as well. Hauser and Thomas will be brought up.
If Thomas can find his shot he'd be a player.
Yeah, I think Stevens likes Thomas a lot. People talk about Hauser being converted, but if I had to guess which one makes the team next year, I’m picking Thomas.
I like Thomas quite a bit as well. The shot doesn't look bad it just needs to go in. Shooting can be the difference between making it in the NBA and not. Same for Hauser and Nesmith for that matter.
Thomas is the guy who kept moving the ball right? The big point guard.
Ditto on liking him.
Does signing Hauser mean they're potentially looking to keep Thomas longer term? (i.e. keeping Thomas on a two-way to better evaluate him)
Assuming Hauser is only on a end of season deal (as has been reported), both will be restricted free agents at the end of the year, so this does nothing to the long-term status for either. However, because Thomas played in the NBA a last year, his minimum salary is higher than Hauser’s. Signing Hauser instead of Thomas keeps the C’s a couple hundred thousand further from the tax.
