Zero.

Though, part of me still believes in undoing the bad karma that surrounds IT. Maybe our cosmic chakras realign by signing him and just having be a leader in the locker room like Udonis Haslem. Doesn’t even have to play.

Whachu reckon folks.

What are the odds we pick up Isaiah Thomas.

Especially with how ol' pal Brad's been undoing trader Danny's efforts ...

And would it add at all to our roster? Would love to hear thoughts.

Doesn't seem to fit the prototype of the defensive switch everything team that Ime is trying to build. I really think the IT ship has sailed long ago. IT is like Freedom in a sense - he needs to have a specific defensive scheme to play to accommodate his deficiencies. I don't think whatever offense he adds - 5 years after his glory years here - make up for the deficiencies. But stranger things have happened, and we do have 5 open spots. Maybe Brad has a softer heart that he displayed today and signs him just to give the Boston media a feelgood story for the next week  :police:

I would love IT back for sure. I don’t see it happening though but I’m hoping to be surprised

Agree with your post but I can't see sentimentality creeping in here.  Doesn't serve anyone well.

Is there such a thing as negative odds? If so, -10%

Why? He’s older, smaller, worse and more injury prone than Pritchard

Because feelings.

I said in the trade deadline thread that it's a waste of a roster spot. I'm good on IT. He should really go overseas at this point, because his NBA career is a wrap.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I said zero as well but would I be happy if they threw him a bone?  yes.  IT deserves it and deserves to be around a winning team even if it's at the end of a bench along for the ride.  he can train and workout and get himself where he needs to be to possibly make a team next year versus playing at the YMCA.  The Celtics owe him that much after the injury debacle.  The issue is the PR hit when he doesn't make the team or get paid by the team next year.  It's probably just better left alone but IT will always hold a special place in my heart for most favorite Celtics because of the way he played, how he gave us his all and may have ended his career while I'm sure there are other players who have given the Celtics much less.

0...zero, nada, no go.

At this point he's even more of a liability on defense, and a devistating injury waiting to happen and be responsible for. We simply don't need a mascot.

IMO We're a wing scorer/shooter coming off the bench, and a big body off the bench away from making some noise in the playoffs, let's not walk through memory lane.

A ten day could be possible even if doubtful...

There are 5 open roster spots. C’s aren’t going to roll with a 15-man rotation.

IT can be a passionate locker room presence who can cultivate or reignite that underdog mentality in our guys. I assume there’s value in bringing veteran leadership to a core that, on the surface, plays entitled or lazy or (to use a Stevens term) with a lack of force.

If there was space for a Carsen Edwards in previous rosters - an undersized shooter who can’t shoot, create, or defend - it isn’t inconceivable to think IT (in his post-injury state) can’t bring more to the table than Carsen.

I agree. It would be good for the fanbase as well. I think it’s a good move for the vet minimum. Unless of course Brad sees IT more of a distraction than a contributor.

Yeah the distraction is really the other side of the coin here. Especially if IT isn’t in mentor-mode yet and will start actively ripping apart the locker room. But his previous stops on other teams give me reason to believe he’s not the same guy who helped blow up that Cavs locker room
