This trade seems like it should already be done. I don't like it as it makes both eams better but they should do it.

"This likely comes down to the 3p deadline. Sixers hopeful for a package of James Harden, Patty Mills, and Bruce Brown.

Nets are hopeful for a package of Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Matisse Thybulle, and Andre Drummond."

poor james harden

will he ever be happy?

if he doesnt win a championship this year can we just give him the trophy anyway?

seems like that's what he wants

he's a super awesome guy and he totally deserves it.

if not he can probably just force his way to the lakers next year and team up w lebron

that oughta do it :)

if that's what is actually what happens for both teams, Philly wins the deal in a landslide.  Adding a shooter/scorer like Harden with his ability to distribute the ball would put them as the top team in the East with the additions of Mills and Bowen to add to the depth.   What I could see backfiring for Brooklyn is the need for Simmons to have the ball in his hands to be of any use on offense taking away from Durant's ability to create for himself and making Kyrie just as competitive for the ball in the games he plays.  Brooklyn would need/want to move Kyrie more than they already do--which involves the problem of finding another franchise willing to put up with his nonsense.

I don't know why anyone would want to play with Irving.  Destroyed the Cavs.  Destroyed the Celtics.  Currently destroying the Nets.  The guy is a cancer.  Harden finally came to that realization.  Not sure why Durant hasn't yet, but Durant seems like a strange guy (different kind of strange than Irving, but strange none-the-less).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

On the surface it seems like Philly has some leverage, as Harden could simply leave in the off-season and he’s all but asking out now.

But Philly is more desperate than it might appear. Embiid is having an MVP-caliber year. That is never a guarantee for any player any year not named Lebron 2010-2020, and less-so for a player with Embiid’s injury history and need to be in peak physical shape. I.e. now is the time for Philly to cash in and add someone who can contribute to a Finals push. You gotta do it this season. Maybe they’ll be a dynasty for the next 4 years, or maybe this is it. Can’t take that chance with a guy like Embiid.

Morey is hoping other teams will make a competitive offer for Simmons today so that Brooklyn feels the pressure to get the deal done. Frankly I wouldn’t be surprised if other teams put deals out for Harden, too. But Philly is (also) the team under pressure. Brooklyn is too but what they really need is for KD and Irving to play consistently. They can lose Harden for nothing and still compete in the East with those two.

You can really see why Harden, Westbrook, and Durant never quite worked out...
