One of the biggest fallacies when it comes to Lebron’s career is that it’s somehow more impressive that he’s won championships with three different teams, rather than, say, Russell or Jordan who won them with the same team.

In reality, what he’s simply done is strong-arm every organization he’s played for (including Cleveland twice) into putting all their chips on the table in a bid to win during the short window he’s on the team. (Usually the players picked lean heavily to Klutch Sports clients, of course.) Then, when the cupboard is bare in terms of assets, the earth fully scorched, and the bills come due, he just goes on to the next fertile ground. He doesn’t build anything. He consumes. He is the equivalent of a basketball nomad with no regard for how he leaves the land after he’s passed through. He will do the same with LA, if given another opportunity.
sounds like Agent Smith saying humans are most closely related to a virus in the Matrix.  can't say I disagree

People are saying I was too hard on Lebron when I said he was t a top ten player anymore. How many top ten players in the nba are losing to the blazers with another perennial all star on the roster? Yes he can score, but he is not the same player.

This is a very weird take. Anthony Davis is barely “perennial All-Star” quality, and the rest of their roster construction is hilariously bad. Malik Monk is their 3rd best player.

LeBron is still one of the best offensive players in the competition.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

He is literally a perennial all star? He has made it 8 years in a row. He only didnt this year cause he was out so long with injuries. He also has made 4 all nba first teams and 4 all nba second teams. I don’t think he is top ten this year, but don’t understand saying he isn’t a perennial all star seems like the weird take here.

Yeah, I look at that roster and ask myself, what were they thinking?  Almost everyone predicted the Westbrook trade would be a disaster, and it's gone even worse than expected.

Outside of the top-two, that's a bottom five team.

I'M THE SILVERBACK GORILLA IN THIS MOTHER... AND DON'T NONE OF YA'LL EVER FORGET IT!

KP / Giannis / Turkuglu / Jrue / Curry
Sabonis / Brand / A. Thompson / Oladipo / Brunson

I understand the rationale of Westbrook for the Lakers.  That obviously hasn't worked, but it really is the rest of the roster construction and decisions that is just awful.  They let Caruso leave for no reason.  They didn't keep Schroder for no reason.  They didn't keep Morris for no reason. They signed guys like DeAndre Jordan for no reason at the expense of Drummond or Ellington instead of Matthews.  They used their biggest exception on Nunn who has yet to play for them.

How much better are the Lakers, even with Westbrook, if they still have Caruso, Schroder, Drummond, Matthews, and Morris?  If nothing else, they'd have the salaries of Caruso, Schroder, and Drummond (along with THT) that they could have used in trades since they could have signed those guys to whatever contract they wanted to (and Morris could have been above the minimum).

The worst compared to whom? I’m sure there are some folks in the Sacramento office who would give him a run for the title.

That said, I do think LeBron has been a unique front office problem for everyone not named Pat Riley. So maybe building a team around the league’s best player isn’t as easy as it looks?

what's fun about that?

Lakers get better while getting rid of their biggest headache.  C's get squat for Schroder
