There are plenty of rumors of substance.  The Lakers and Celtics have clearly had talks about Richardson as it has been reported the Lakers have offered THT and a pick for Josh.  There have been all sorts of teams linked to Smart.  Clearly there have been talks.  Schroder's name keeps coming up, with the Cavs and Bulls have reported offers out there.  We've heard Rob and Grant's names a few times.  Those are all rumors of substance.

I suspect we'll only see a very small move to get under the luxury tax.

But, the lack of chatter doesn't necessarily mean a lot.  Perhaps the biggest "gut punch" trade of all-time -- the Perk trade -- wasn't rumored at all, and came in about 30 seconds before the deadline.
Ainge made a mistake precisely because he is aggressive.  I don't see Brad having that type of personality and Brad was very recently a coach so I think he understands how disruptive a big mid-season trade could be.  Remember the old saying, "The best trades are sometimes the ones you don't make."

Comments about "no ambitions or urgency" are completely speculative on the part of ordinary fans.

I would say completely wrong, as opposed to speculative.  The question is will Brad make good moves or bad moves, or somewhere in between, not that he has no ambition or urgency.  Thank God he is clearly competent enough not to hurry up and wreck the team.

I think the Lakers initiated the talks on Richardson and Brad took the call.    I don't think we had any desire of move Richardson there, THT is garbage.  No way we approached them and why would we help them?   No pick until 2027.  Pass on LA, their assets stink.

Yeah, this whole thread seems very odd and delusional. Does Brad need to scream from the rooftops about a trade for it to be a substantial rumor? What more do people want? We've obviously been in trade talks about Schroder, Richardson, and maybe Smart.

I kind of like having it calm before Thursday.

In the past, we got ourselves all riled up leading up to the deadline, even as we knew that the most likely outcome would be Danny Ainge saying, "Well, we were pretty close on a few big moves, but ultimately, we couldn't push it across the finish line."
